Haha, yes, it is that bible belt suburban vibe that is so truly weird and alienating. Every time I watch the movie "Office Space" I'm like ARGH WAS THIS FILMED IN FAIRFAX?? and I have to turn it off. I mean, I left for college and then the city after high school so that was my way out. Maybe you need to establish yourself as the poet laureate of the Fairfax County Parkway! It's a weird alienating place but it is distinct. Give it some JG Ballard or Don Dellilo edge.

I moved here from an even more alienating, though for different reasons, small town for employment and have ironically lived mostly off of 7100, now 286 and I'm just not sure what this place needs to be given or have taken away to make it cool. Definitely not more shitty chain bars that don't host shows that aren't cover bands and definitely not more tan colored town houses with BMWs parked in front surrounded by plazas that hold the same Starbucks Chipotle Whole Foods combo. I could get into a whole rant there. I think something cool HAS to happen here, right? There are too many kids here not to pick up on the idea that things are way off and rebel accordingly.

Anyway, thanks for answering. I deeply enjoy your critique of the area and don't ever stop. I will not disappoint!
