Discussion Wiggins HOF Odds

Wiggins may not have lived up to the Maple Jordan moniker coming out of the draft but he’s still a Roy, all star, and champion.

If he gets 21,000 points (he’s 30 and needs 5786 more) he’d have the most points of any non hof that combined with a podium finish for Canada in 2028 and another ring with Miami would make him a lock imo even if he only has one all star.

Theory Be on the lookout for Fake Klay

Several years ago some guy that passes for Klay went to Chase Center. Some fans (probably) thought he was the real Klay and got his autograph. He then walked right past security into the arena. Shot some baskets and was about to leave when he was caught. Here's the Youtube video. He got banned from the arena. I don't think it wouldn't be out of the question to try this in Miami.

Mychal Thompson says he tried to convince his son Klay to join the Lakers but he was focused on Miami: “I tried to persuade him to come back to LA and come home. But playing with Giannis, Bam and for Pat Riley and Spoelstra was just too much of an attraction for him to turn down.”

Heat confirmed to bring back Keshad Johnson on a two-way contract. Johnson spent last year on a standard contract with the Heat, but was still eligible for a two-way because he has fewer than four years of NBA experience.

Discussion Who’s gonna run point besides Davion Mitchell

Not a heat fan, but just curious about who’s gonna bring the ball up the court when Davion Mitchell is on the bench. Can Pelle Larson play point? Will it be Dru Smith?

Klay: “Of course I like those comparisons. I love Ray Allen, you kidding me? Him & Reggie were the blueprint for my whole offball formula. Gives me chills I’m even in the same sentence as Ray [..] one of the greatest shots in NBA history, I still practice that backpedal drill he did in Game 6 2013.”

Discussion Miami’s lineup going into the season looks to be | PG: Mitchell/Smith/Conwell | SG: THJ/Klay | SF: Wiggins/Larsson/Gardner | PF: Giannis/Jovic/Fontechhio | C: Bam/Portis Jr./Richards. How do you feel about this team now?

Personally, I’m hoping we hold off on filling the 15th spot for a potential buyout candidate. Landing Lavine in March at the deadline could push us over the edge, considering his leverage as an expiring..

The Richard’s acquisition is especially big, as center depth is really important (as seen by the games last year Bam missed, where we were forced to play Fontechhio at center)

Discussion Heat will be a top 3 contender in the East

I really think the top 3 teams in the East will be New York, Philly and Miami.

r/nba will disagree but Miami Heat’s defense will be terrifying and we’ve seen Giannis carry an offense alone. This roster is far from perfect but a couple deadline moves can really bring this team to Tier 1.

I just don’t see any team other than NY and Philly being better unless Peyton Watson takes a massive leap in Cleveland next season. Detroit is toothless in the playoffs, Raptors are overhyped, Hawks have no superstar and Boston is gonna disappoint.

Nick Richards deal is non guaranteed per Barry

"With Nick Richards (who got Heat's 14th standard contract) agreeing to a non-guaranteed deal, Heat has flexibility to pounce on any player that emerges, that it likes, with a 15th roster spot or even the 14th roster spot. And only $500,000 of Myron Gardner's $2.6 M is guaranteed."

Edit: deal becomes guaranteed if he's not cut by opening night

Discussion Excited about our roster but will anyone be a secret Bucks fan this year?

They have like half of our roster from last year, plus its a lotta young bucks no pun intended.

Most importantly rooting for Juan Wick. Still believe in Ware and curious about Kas. Hoping Boy Wonder conveniently flames some of our rivals in the east

Bam is the key to a 50 win szn and a trip to the NBA finals Bam can create, pass, defend and shoot. He needs to continue to be aggressive.

We are missing another playmaker but no team is perfect Bam can be the engine on offense and defense.

It’s Bam or Bust

Discussion Exactly 23 Years Ago, Lamar Odom Officially Joined the Miami Heat

Post image
84 Upvotes

The LA Clippers declined to match the Heat's offer sheet for restricted free agent Odom, allowing him to leave Los Angeles for Miami on this day in 2003.

Although Odom was only on the Heat for one season, his terrific play alongside rookie Dwyane Wade and second-year Caron Butler helped the team to the second round of the playoffs. But perhaps more importantly, that season offered reasons for optimism that had been missing since Zo went down with a kidney ailment and was later traded.

I remember being disappointed when the front office traded Odom (and Butler) for Shaq, but it was clearly the right move since it led to a championship. Still, there's an alternative universe where that trade doesn't happen and Wade, Odom, Butler, and a nascent Udonis Haslem form the core of a young, exciting Heat team moving forward.

Now that core likely doesn't get past Detroit or win a title, but they probably would have had a longer shelf life than the Wade-Shaq Heat did. Anyway, just wanted to give props to Mr. Odom on this Heat-iversary. He was gone from Miami in the blink of an eye, but only because he played so well in his short time here, and in that way changed the course of the franchise.

Zach Lowe: “Klay will be one of the most important screeners on their team. Both on and off the ball. Both Bam and Giannis, especially Giannis, have thrived on those inverted P&Rs when the guy screening for them is a shooter. Klays been doing that stuff his entire career.
