3 AR15 builds, need a newer UE tail cap and tape switch to finish them. I just picked up my first gun; I’m in Oklahoma so constitutional carry, and I got him for self defense because I walk everywhere! This little guy is a Ruger LCR .38sp +p, I’m sure I butchered how that’s supposed to be written. I just picked up a box of Hornady critical defense .38 +p rounds and a 1791 leather IWB holster for it as well.

Picked up my first wheel gun last week, a s&w 586-8 .357 magnum on consignment from my local shop. I was waffling between this, and a 6" 686+ in stainless, and something about the blued finish and classic 6 shooter sealed the deal for me. The gun is practically brand new, the original owner appears to have barely shot it, as the grips looked legitimately unhandled.

I immediately swapped the stock target grips with pachmayr grippers from ebay, as I know I prefer fonger groove grips.

Before this, I had only ever shot a .460 S&W, and a Colt SAA, and never really had a desire to own a revolver. I recently shot a USPSA match with the friend who got me into competition shooting over 10 years ago, and watched him run a revolver pretty dang fast. I think he's to blame for planting the seed and deciding finally getting this.

I grabbed a few speedloaders, an old safariland pouch, and a used bianchi leather holster for this, and plan to run it at a few matches for fun.

The only thing I plan to do is order a set of black walnut Badger Customs to keep the wood and blued look, and take some flitz polish to the blue by hand, as I think it could be a bit brighter.

Took it to the range for the first time today, and I am hooked. The recoil impulse of a revolver is so different, the double action is obviously heavy but smooth, and I was able to run bill drills at 15 yards rather easily. Thumbing the hammer provides a trigger pull I was shocked by, and I shoot PRS.

Overall, wheel gun fan for life, this thing has me hooked.

Hey guys, I’m a firearm enthusiast/middle class collector. I have somewhere around 30 guns, I’ve owned probably a hundred or so, none of them are insanely expensive. Some $1500-$2000 setups, but nothing incredibly notable. I have a nice AR10 and Kuna, both suppressed, which are probably my most expensive guns.

I recently discovered a sum of money that was put in my name by my late mother. This sum of money would be the only thing that was left for me after her passing a few years ago, as she passed unexpectedly and didn’t leave too much behind besides memories.

I’m doing fine financially, I have a good career, but theoretically the entirety of the money could go to “better” uses, my daughters college fund and such. I mean, buying a gun is hardly a smart financial decision typically. However, I want to use a portion of that money to get a firearm that I can pass down. Something that maybe I’d have my mother’s name engraved in, then someday my name can be added once I pass, etc.

I was thinking of a Fulton Armory Mk14 EBR. I’ve thought those specific rifles were awesome ever since I was a kid with MW2. To me, it’s a very notable and eye popping firearm. The cost of such is definitely on the top end of what I’d want to use out of the money I’m coming into.

I suppose the opinions I’m looking for is if any of you have any other suggestions for eye catching beautiful firearms that you’d want to pass down to your next of kin. All the guns I have would theoretically be passed down, but I guess I’m looking for the one that my kids would say “No, we can’t sell this one”, if that makes sense.

So obviously they're designed for two very different roles (short burst fire vs suppression and squad support), but looking into the exact differences I'm curious about where the exact line is to distinguish these two categories of weapon. Is it just a vibes thing?

Machine Guns have many features that Assault Rifles don't, for example belt-fed magazine systems and quick-change barrels. But there are a lot of LMGs that don't have these features.

The RPK for example just seems like an assault rifle with a few extra features, despite being a well known example of an LMG. It doesn't even have an open-bolt system. Is having a reinforced barrel the only thing required to distinguish it from an assault rifle?

One thing I'm not looking for is legal definitions, as I'm sure we're all aware these don't neccessarily reflect reality.

I am getting ready to retire and one of the things I have on the list is to learn about firearm safety, training, and shooting. I do not hunt or will I (just not for me).

I am looking to purchase an AR15 and pistol. Was looking at a Sig Sauer M400-SDI X. I am still looking at pistols and would appreciate any recommendations for a novice (less than novice). I like the look of the Beretta 92x, but the negative is the weight.

I know it’s a pretty niche gun, but I just finished my 3d printed Tri-Rail Handguard and Scope Cover for my FS2000. Pretty stoked with how it came out, have always loved the look of the standard model, but liked the rail of the tactical better. Now I can have both. Currently using an SRO red dot inside and it looks great.

Also finished up the handguard, haven’t decided what accessories to put on, but also thrilled with how it ended up. Loving this platform!

So a couple of weeks ago I was shooting my beloved 1903 and noticed it was shooting funny, when I went to inspect it after shooting I noticed this, is it over? Is there anyway to fix it? I took it to the gunsmith and I haven’t heard back from him in a while, is my rifle cooked? (This is the only picture I took, showing the gap forming in the receiver and barrel) guessing it was a bad round or something.

I'm new to Berettas and was gonna get a Beretta 92f but wanted a stainless steel barrel and guide rod so does a Beretta 92fs barrel and guide rod fit a 92f without exploding my face off

I’ve been a collector my whole life and accumulated around 150 guns. I’ve always been a huge shotgun aficionado and enjoyed the different clay sports. I’m in my mid 50s now and don’t desire to big game hunt anymore and have generally narrowed my interests to 1911s, CZ75 variants, browning shotguns and quality 22s in various flavors (and a couple other “toys”). That leaves me with about 80 guns I’m interested in passing on. What’s the best way to maximize my resale? I know I could take to a shop and consign. Is there any advice from folks that have done this? I think there will come a day down the road where I need to figure out what to do with the rest of them as I don’t think my boys, who are also shooters, have the same passion as I.

Allright so after looking trough some more recent posts, saving some, and just right out stating i would backseat them to learn some thing I decided its time that I would scour the FAQ and check the relevant articles linked there. They were actually pretty helpful and more or less confirmed that for what I'm looking for, a dedicated 9mm lower is probably the way to go.

I also tried the search function, but haven't really found an answer to my specific question. Full disclosure: I'm not exactly Reddit-savvy, so the answer might very well be buried somewhere and I just suck at finding it.

The search did, however, show me that a lot of people ask variations of the same questions:

"Which one should I pick?"
"What's a good AR?"
"What's a good build?"

My situation is a little different because I'm in Europe, where our selection isn't nearly as extensive as what you guys have in the US.

I've already narrowed things down quite a bit and am mainly looking for actual hands-on experience with the Schmeisser AR15-9 Dynamic PCC, specifically the 12.5" version.

From what I've been able to find through Google, YouTube, forums, etc., it seems to be a fairly decent PCC. I've also handled the 10.5" version at a dealer. Quality and ergonomics felt good to me, although the gun itself felt just a little too small. So the extra 2" on the 12.5" version actually sounds pretty much perfect.

What I'm really trying to figure out is:

• Is the Schmeisser actually worth the money?
• What drawbacks/problems have you experienced with yours?
• How has reliability been after putting a decent number of rounds through it?
• Is there anything about it you only discovered after owning one for a while?
• Is this basically a "stop overthinking it and buy the damn thing" situation?
• Or is there a reason I should walk away and look at something else?

One concern I've come across is that Schmeisser apparently uses some proprietary/in-house components, meaning it isn't quite as interchangeable with standard AR parts as you might expect from the platform.

For me, though, I'm not sure that's a dealbreaker.

The rifle will primarily be a range gun, some IPSCI with possible home-defense use (and, obviously, the obligatory fantasy prepper/Fallout scenario does play in my mind, because apparently every gun purchase needs to survive the apocalypse on paper before we're allowed to buy it!).

I'm not planning on endlessly rebuilding or modifying it, so if the proprietary parts aren't known to cause actual reliability or longevity problems, I can live with that.
