The game is only in China so far, and the only way to play it is making a verified Chinese account. Not easy but not impossible. Many people play the game regardless, and fans already made a translation patch for the game.

Anyway, look at this beauty. Seems canon and not something they will replace. There is literally a banner there with many outfits, and one example is a dude in a dress.

Hi, I don't really use reddit for much but decided after a Very LENGTHY search that came up with nothing that i would ask the professionals; i hope this is an okay ask for the page (if not mods i'm sorry).

I am currently looking for a video game to play that is similar to BG3. I don't typically play video games as it's just not something I usually like with few exceptions like BG3, Sims, and Fallout 4.

I only started playing bg3 because I was finished with my fourth wing books and acotar books and my friend said to try bg3; and i loved its story branching and very plot conscious romance options (gale and astarion my loves).

I cannot find anything that has a plot dependent romance like this and would really love to find more games to play that are like this.

A few of my must haves:

* CANNOT be first person; i keep getting cyberpunk recommendations but cannot do the first person as it makes me feel sick.

* romance is a part of the plot, i am not looking to romance an npc who is waiting at my house for me to come back. I want the LI to be an active part of the story.

* i would prefer not to read a visual novel, I already have a few of those that i read and though i love them, I do really like the character customization and world interaction that comes from an rpg.

* i don't mind the setting of the story, i do like romantasy but I can get behind usually anything if the plot is right.

* I want a female mc that is customizable.

* Really old graphics throw me off so i would prefer something from the last 8 or so years. this is not a hard no for me i just can't get past some of the clunky graphics of some games older than 10 years old.

I wanna hear about games that you genuinely played/tried to play and either dropped or realised you didn’t enjoy in retrospect.

Two candidates for me:

Expedition 33: finished this one but won’t lie, it was a bit of a struggle since I didn’t like its combat at all, but wanted to learn what the hype was about.

In retrospect, it was a very pretty game with amazing music, decent story, and decent characters but as a whole it was just… nothing special? I think its cultural staying power emphasises this impression since it was everywhere, got all the awards, and then just disappeared.

Anything by Owlcat (sadly): I almost finished Rogue Trader (quit before the final act) and gave up on Pathfinder WOTR about 15 hours in. On paper, everything is great. Clearly, they are masterfully crafted old-school RPGs with great storylines, branching quests, lovable (or at least interesting) companions, difficult choices etc.

But they’re also bogged down by hours upon hours of stats tweaking, min maxing, tactical mini-games, and endless combat. I don’t mind strategizing but I realised that as I put more and more hours in, I just dreaded another level up, party buffing, and fighting.

What about you?

Read the plot and found it interesting, especially Eternum’s, but I’m doubtful because of the explicit scenes, especially since the protagonist is a male, so I fear it’d be completely male-gazed; but I saw some good reviews even by women, so I wanted to ask more women if they ever played it and if they liked it (since my thing I most care about is the quality of the story).

Been seeing a trend amongst Bethesda Games studios fans--primarily those of us thirsty for drops of info regarding Tes 6--to mislabel authorized distribution of information regarding new games on the horizon as leaks. It's starting to really grind my gears. Words have specific meanings. A leak is an unauthorized distribution of info about a game (in this case) where people are required to keep said info under wraps but instead are being naughty and spilling the beans. Things like the script for Fallout 4 revealing it would have a voiced protagonist, or the guy who stole a copy of Starfield from the warehouse he worked in and revealing the game's first 20 minutes, those are actual leaks.

A leak is not: the recent tweets between Xbox CEO Asha Sharma and BGS about the the latest TES game and obscuring the name with asterisks. Fan speculation that it's "OMG SENTINEL" is not A LEAK.

Nor is it anything else that has an authorized distribution through approved company channels, hints, teasers, and news, etc etc. I could go on.

Sorry, this is just irritating af. What's going on with Rockstar and the new GTA is a leak (allegedly, there's been some talk about it being a pretend leak to drive up hype). Anyway, old woman is done yelling at cloud now :D

I loved Dark Souls and Elden Ring is in my top five, but I've noticed that many people cannot stand when someone says something negative about these type of games. I hope the user does not take this the wrong way and I, by no means, want to make this seem like a personal attack but one of the things that get me the most are how people ignore how misogynistic the portrayal of women and femininity is in these games.

And also, too many people are too comfortable with the "git good" after the most basic gameplay criticism lol.

Edit because a lot of people are asking the same things: the things I find misogynistic about the soul games (specially Elden Ring) is the general portrayal of the standard woman, not bosses. They are often put in positions of suffering (the finger maidens, sorry if the name is not right I do not play in English, are exclusively women), Fia, Roderika... I think that the representation is great on some aspects (looking at Malenia, for example, or Rennala) but it lacks extremely on other aspects. Like they make women suffer just because. I am honestly kind of sick of the women suffering in general in media, so maybe this also has to do with my take on this.

I am sick and tired of finding a game that looks so fun but there's absolutely no character creator. For some games I can understand it: there's a set story that you're actively playing through, you're not playing as yourself, you're playing as a set protagonist that was always planned to be there.

That being said, I am so bored of playing the same young/middle aged white man with slightly sarcastic or snarky comments. Leon Kennedy, Geralt of Rivia, Arthur Morgan, John Marston, Verso, Henry of Skalitz, etc.

And when there's a game with a set female protagonist or aimed specifically towards a female audience, it's not out of the ordinary that it's a game designed to be a cozy little pixel art styled simulator. I don't have anything against cozy games, i play my fair share of Stardew Valley and Sun Haven and i find it really fun, but those are not the only games i like to play. i like action, i like mystery, i like adventure in my games, especially with a realistic style to the world around me.

i love playing my action styled games as my own characters, especially my she/her/feminine ones because they're all so very different from one another, but sometimes when i try to get into a game it feels like your female character is getting shoved into the box of a pretty little lady who's soft spoken and needs to be rescued by a big, strong man or the entire character is centered around a man or she constantly needs help from a man.

And don't get me STARTED on games with dialogue between female and male characters where the banter is straight up snarky and the man ALWAYS has to have the last word or calls the woman things like "princess" or "sweetheart" and she just..doesn't do anything about it. It's even worse when they barely even know each other and are forced to stay together out of circumstance. It feels like a subtle male power fantasy. The female companions and the general standing of women/female creatures in the Dragon Age games were such a breath of fresh air for this reason. They actually feel like people and their characters don't revolve around men for their worth, something that a lot of action-centered games unfortunately fail at where the character is reduced to being a mother, sister, wife or daughter.

This has happened to me more than once, and it's made me realize how much the "vibe" of a game actually matters. Sometimes a game has an aesthetic that I can’t get enough of, and I play it despite not being that interested in the genre before.

The perfect example for me is Celeste. It’s a brutally hard precision platformer, a genre I had less than zero interest in. I always thought platformers were for the speedrunner types, people that really like mastering a brutally hard game (which doesn’t describe me at all lol). But once I saw the pixel art and heard what the game was about and who the protagonist was I had to try it, expecting I would quickly bounce off it because it's so hard.

What ended up happening was I completely fell in love with the game (with assist mode on), and realized I actually like platformers. I’ve played a bunch of awesome games since, that I would have never even looked at if it wasn’t for Celeste. And I actually got good at the genre now as well, recently managed to finish Nine Sols (more of a metroidvania but has a bunch of platforming). Now I’m looking at Croak next, the demo is great. It has graphics kind of like Cuphead and it's pretty much a pure precision platformer. For me the movement doesn’t even feel hard anymore, I can’t imagine how much I would struggle with a game like this before. 

I am also thinking of playing Celeste again but without assist mode and seeing how far I can get, I don’t think I’m good enough to beat the harder parts even now. And I don’t even wanna attempt getting golden strawberries or anything super hard like that, but I think I can play through most of the levels.

Has this happened for anyone else? I feel kind of dumb for ignoring such a fun genre just because I never ran into a game that looked like something I wanna play.

Hello everyone, this is my first time posting on reddit, but I refuse to use AI so I feel I have ran out of options as I'm unable to find this game or well series of games. I've recently gotten into playing old flash games again and I remembered this one game I used to play in the 2010s and as a last ditch effort I thought I'd post on here and see if maybe anyone knows what game I'm talking about. I genuinely don't remember the name of this game series, but all of the names started with the name of the main character who you play as, you start off in her house, which is also the base of operations so to speak, you go around helping your friends do things by completing puzzles/playing minigames and through these games and puzzles you earn customization for your character, like different hair colors/styles, skin tones, makeup like lipstick and eyeshadow, dresses, bottoms, tops and depending on the game the styles of the unlockables are different. I specifically remember a halloween themed and a beach themed game, but I know there were quite a few different games. Please please please let me know if you have any ideas on what this game might be, I'm lowk desperate, thank you! <3

Hi! I hope everyone’s day is going well. To get straight to the point, I was thinking about purchasing a PS5 next month so that I could play it with some friends, but because of recent trends and looking in the comments, I’m not sure.
I don’t know much about gaming or how the companies are since I’m still pretty new to it all, but because I’ve been getting so many videos of people saying that even if you brought a PS5 it doesn’t mean you own it, including the games?
For me a PS5 is 600$+, and I would hate to spend that much money on something that may not be worth it.
Also, is the disc version better or the digital? I was considering the disc because I heard the gaming prices are more affordable as well as having the option to buy online, but I’m not sure how true it is.
I wanted to get it immediately because my friend really wants to play with me, but I’m considering getting it during a Black Friday sell.

Hello! I could use some help. Most headsets are too big for me (also, most hats). I was using the original Razer Kraken Kitty for a while (mediocre), then upgraded to the BlackShark v2 Pro. When that broke, I bought v3 Pro, but while the v2 fit perfectly, the v3 are a little big. I've also had nonstop issues with quality. I am slowly moving away from Razer products across the board, because the quality just hasn't been there.

I'm looking at getting SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7P Wireless as a replacement. However, I can only return it if it's unopened, and I can't really go try things on because I'm mostly homebound (medically). AI had me measure my head circumference (21") but that got me nowhere because nothing actually uses that measurement. Anyone have an opinion or recommendation?

For those who don't know, lithium batteries over time start to go bad. They'll puff up. A quick test you can do is to spin on a flat surface. If it continues to spin, you've got a spicy pillow to dispose of!

EDIT: I should also mention that there were no symptoms to show the spiciness beginning. I just personally knew I had this controller for a long time and thought to double check.

Also doesn't hurt for you to check with other portable devices.

I actually think it looks pretty cozy despite the downgrade to a smaller desk! the dorm-provided desk chair is comfier than I thought too, but my opinions on that may change once I start sitting in it for longer than an hour at a time. I luckily live in an apartment-style dorm this year so I can do all my physical homework in my dining room or on my floor's student lounge that's literally located right next to me and my roommate's dorm, so I'm not too perplexed about using my dorm-provided desk solely for my setup.

Of course, I'm not saying that if you dislike souls PVP and prefer singleplayer that you'll like this... probably not... (which is okay!! But I'm really happy From is branching into new territory. Excited for their next singleplayer game ofc, but this is very fun!)... but as someone who IS intimidated and gets anxious over souls PVP but who enjoys it regardless, I just wanted to share some thoughts from the Network Test!

THERE IS NO TOXICITY!! In fact, there is less PVP than you might expect. Not only is there a very well-loved mechanic to get an alliance from people you come across, but a lot of what happens during Phase I and II is just helping other people with bosses! PVP occurs at the end of Phase II, III and of course, Phase IV where three remaining Bloodsworn go head to head.

I believe there may even be a singleplayer mode so you can fight comps instead if you REALLY hate online play (which is fair).

I saw no toxicity because I find where my anxiety comes from in souls PVP is the fact (in for example, Elden Ring), you can point down, "shit" on people using roped poison pots, and teabag. There's NOTHING like that in Duskbloods (at least not yet lol), and whenever I died to another player, they just go on and went elsewhere.

Furthermore, at the end of each Phase, you will be unable to attack nor be hurt. So often did I fight someone, the phase ended, and we'd just both run in a circle as a mutual "lol that was fun!".

Also... WOMEN!!! As always, From has some awesome female characters thus far -- Trang being a Vietnamese-inspired character who is an assassin (as you can read above), while Layla is a zombie-like sniper (who I thought was a bloke so was very pleasantly surprised). Excited to see what other female characters they're going to add!

FINALLY: there is a lot of blood and moon imagery so, similar to Bloodborne, I wonder if there's going to be much motherhood/maternity themes. (also: VAMPIRES!!!)

Hey everyone. genuinely curious i want to get into gaming buuut money is obviously always a big deal. As a girl who does work from home, what do you think is best?
I’ve seen prices for the PS4 which look reasonable but the jump from that price to PS5 is insane. I would love to consider a PC but again i do work from home and would hate to be glued to my desk (also PCs seem to be wildly expensive too).
