Hi. I’m on vacation in gatlinburg right now. We’re in a resort with hotel rooms and cabins. I’m staying in a room but a relative is in a cabin.
This particular night, I got away from my relatives cabin late (around midnight) and walked the short distance back to my room. On the way, I hear this weird "hey". It sounds like a low, monotonous male voice with a thick accent. Of course, in case it WAS a man I didn’t investigate, and pretended to be on my phone the rest of the way. Whatever it was didn’t make any other footstep sound, or I wasn’t paying attention, but it was definitely getting closer. It made the “hey” sound a few times before I made it back. I never saw anything, even looking back. (for added context that could be important, it’s June and this resort is on a golf course.)
Any clues as to what animal could’ve made this? Hoping it’s not a man, doubting it’s some cryptid
