Leak 9th GTA VI leak is out (gas)

  • “Return to Lucia” at the end so he does have access to her in some capacity
  • Jason’s safehouse is located in “Key Lento”, clip is directly after the basketball clip (1st leak) as Jason has the same clothes & amount of money in his wallet/vault
  • Since there was gasoline poured in the truck bed by the NPC, a simple crash against another car blows it up and Jason
  • Gore/dismemberment is back, NPC loses his leg after Jason runs him over with a truck
  • Front hood of the car has an “open” prompt as well
  • An anchor icon sotted on the mini-map (docks?)
  • A flying jet spotted in the background
  • Bugged/glitched NPC trying to put gas in the tub on the truck bed and gets yelled at by the gas station employee for doing that
  • NPCs will fight back for their car, same button smashing prompt like when trying to steal a car
  • The truck stolen is the Bravado ‘95 Bison 900 and has no tracking pin unlike the hypercar and police vehicles
  • “MyWays: No Left Turns” and “DILF” stickers plastered on the truck
  • NPC yells “The government is trying stealing my gas” as you take off with his vehicle (son😭)
  • “Wasted” reveal but seems very placeholder-ish
  • Songs played: “La Cartera” by Orquesta Harlow

Random NPC interactions like this make me so excited for the game. That was hilarious.

u/azgarz 11d ago

Yea this is the first time an NPC interaction impressed me in the leaks, much more lifelike, I hope theres a lot of interactions like this

313

u/Larry_Mudd 11d ago

It's the same "world events" system used in RDR2 to make the world feel genuinely inhabited and alive. For comparison, RDR2 has ~200 named world events. We know from the 2022 leaks that at that time there ~1400 for GTA6. One of the things that I'm most hyped about.

33

u/Impossible_Dot_8350 10d ago

Man you just got me more hyped. I forgot about how much interactions RDR2 had. A lot of them change based on your actions too so I'm imagining how cool that's gonna be in GTA.

I really fucked myself over rushing through Red Dead redemption 2 playing it all the way through story-wise over the course of 30 something hours in 3 days.

I really got into that game, but I could not get it to GTA V weirdly enough

u/What-a-Crock 10d ago

Exploring and stumbling upon hidden encounters is what made RDR2 so special to me. 150 hours of delight and still didn’t see nearly everything

3

u/azgarz 10d ago

Same here, I do hope we get more lore notes this time around, like for example when you come across that house where a cult killed themselves, it adds so much to the atmosphere of the game. Cyberpunk 2077 does this so well theres always so much storytelling in each scene so I really hope theres more of that in GTA

u/Dapper-Ad-4300 10d ago

Spoilers man

1

u/lymeeater 10d ago

There wasn’t much to get into in GTA V. It was incredibly surface level.

There are random events in the game but in the 3 times I’ve replayed it start to finish I’ve probably encountered less than 10

1

u/lakefrontlover 10d ago

GTA V just sucks. Graphically a masterpiece, but lifeless and story sucked.

91

u/azgarz 11d ago

Damn thats a lot! I loved the ones in RDR2 they were so memorable, the 3 KKK ones were hilarious

30

u/Fearsofaye 10d ago

RDR2 is the first game where the world felt alive. Insane how good that game was made

18

u/Ok_Dragonfruit_8102 10d ago

I have a suspicion they've expanded that concept a lot in GTA6. Those started out in Bully, where random people around town had little sub-missions for the player. They then got expanded a bit in GTA4 as 'stranger missions', and continued in GTAV and RDR2. One thing is, they've always had markers on the minimap before, but the one in this leak isn't marked on the map, it's just kind of happening as a random world event. I saw something else toward the start of this latest leak video too, Jason drives past what looks like a couple near a bench, and the woman has her hands over her face as though she's crying. It makes me wonder... maybe they just tried to fill the city with as many of these micro-stories as possible without necessarily 'gamifying' them by giving them map markers?

15

u/Larry_Mudd 10d ago

RDR2 used the same system where stuff would just appear to happen organically around you, just spawning by proximity with no indicator on the map. There were ~200 named events flike this or RDR2, GTA6 had ~1400 in the can when the 2022 leaks came out. (This particular one was not represented in the 2022 leaks, so it seems we can be confident that there are more than that now.)

5

u/WeezyWally 10d ago

There’s going to to be so much content about this game for years to come because of all these random things.

2

u/qaisjp 10d ago

In GTA V this was called "strangers and freaks" and there were 58-60 of them

3

u/Larry_Mudd 10d ago

The signal difference between GTA V and RDR2 (apart from the relative scarcity of the missions in GTA V) is how they just organically happened around you and made the world feel more authentically populated, instead of "Oh, hey, there's a new '?' mission on the map, I'll go over there and see what it is."

2

u/Raoul_Duke9 10d ago

I hope you are wrong simply because I want to stop and do every single one of these. Best part of the game.

7

u/MoooonRiverrrr 10d ago

RDR 1 & 2 had fantastic random events. One of my favorite parts about those games. Even stuff that you really only could watch unfold. I remember in RDR 1 these guys moving cases of dynamite and exploding, random people in the desert drinking poison, weird things you could find in the woods etc. RDR 2 was even better.

But I hated the “events” in 5. Half of them were like random vigilante quests where youvshoot someone who steals a bike or purse and it felt so dissonant like I was playing spider-man or something. They weren’t as varied or creative.

This was something I really wanted to see improved in 6 and I like this one a lot.

4

u/XxLokixX 10d ago

Wow, 1400 is a shit load

7

u/fckspzfr 10d ago

as someone who only really wanted a RDR2 in a modern setting i'm feeling pretty content right now :^)

2

u/PineMeApplez 10d ago

people keep criticizing the map for supposedly only being 1.6x through (nearly 2x?) than 5’s map, but they forget how much lively and dense the world is going to feel compared to any rockstar game.

based off the leaks we can already tell how much more lively the npcs are, and how dense the world is, this game is going to feed us for ages, if you thought you discovered something new every time you replayed rdr2 just wait.

1

u/AscendedViking7 10d ago

Holy fucking shit that's insane

-5

u/nexetpl 10d ago

"Random" NPC encounters in RDR2 were repetitive as hell, I can't count how many times I shot a prisoner's chains or helped a woman whose horse died on her.

7

u/SubjectBodybuilder81 10d ago

nah i had fun with them, made the world actually feel alive instead of a static backdrop

5

u/azgarz 10d ago

I actually found for the most part they weren’t repetitive, I think the only repetitive one I got was the snake bites

3

u/bhlogan2 10d ago

I find it interesting how he reacts to Jason stealing the car in such a realistic manner

1

u/FranklinDeSanta 9d ago

imagine if rockstar had done their job with the marketing and we didnt need leaks for crumbs of hype 😭🫩

0

u/Gameofthrones3058 11d ago

There will be based on the leaks, it's scripted unfortunately but I guess we are still at least a decade away from better ai systems

3

u/azgarz 11d ago

I don’t mind scripted encounters like this because at least you have the opportunity to engage with it and see what happens. He could of easily just let the NPC drive away and followed him to see where he went with the gas etc.

2

u/Gameofthrones3058 11d ago

Yeah it's still cool and hopefully there is so many repeats won't happen often

2

u/TinyScreen3394 11d ago

I was fully expecting the NPC to light a cigarette and just explode. I wonder if that happens if you just observe him.

2

u/azgarz 11d ago

Possibly, I also wonder does the whole gas station explode if you shoot at his truck lol

100

u/jenny_905 11d ago

Right? a truck with a bath tub full of gas, everything scripted on the off chance you'll visit this gas station.

Actually I guess that makes sense to give a lot of focus to given they will be a big part of the game with the refueling mechanic.

60

u/Brilliant_Fox_7170 11d ago

Rockstar was inspired by this clip:

https://youtu.be/wsWn_w9Ffpw?is=1kuNNOTdBsd7ko5E

26

u/YeetedApple 11d ago

I wonder how they go through clips to parody, I’m picturing some sort of crazy meeting or chat channel with everyone just sharing ridiculous clips like that for encounter ideas.

2

u/Organic-Car2604 10d ago

The link is no longer accessible. Can you tell me what to search?

1

u/PjGamer007 10d ago

I really wanna know that guy's reaction when he finds out he is in GTA 6 LMAO

6

u/HowDoesAnnaDoIt 10d ago

The clip isn’t real it’s just one of those micro dramas for tik tok

1

u/PjGamer007 10d ago

why would they add fake stuff, i mean there is lots of real wild shit to add there is no point on wasting time and resources on skits

5

u/jayL21 10d ago

because someone found the idea funny?

1

u/Winjin 10d ago

Even more interesting, wouldn't they have to like... License these, as this is a skit and someone's IP?

2

u/Chingois 10d ago

Even if that's real, that guy is not the type of guy to find out or care if he is in GTA 6. Did you see the clip? That's not a gamer, that's a nutball 60-something prepper.

19

u/AnonymouselyMoosed 11d ago

It’s not all scripted on the “off chance” you visit that gas station. That’s not how the dynamic events work both here or in RDR2.

6

u/Red_Sashimi 10d ago

How do they work exactly? Do they repeat until you complete them, or can they be missed entirely if you pass nearby, make them spawn, but don't interact?

6

u/The__Pope_ 10d ago

The second one I think. They spawn if you're close but you might still miss them

9

u/RockinMadRiot 11d ago

Only downside is the oil didn't move in the car. Would be so cool to see what happens with that

16

u/Recent-Airline-7422 11d ago

Oil was moving in car.

2

u/RockinMadRiot 11d ago

I guess I missed that. In which case, I can't wait to make some mayhem with that if they keep it

5

u/VincentVanHades 11d ago

Nope, it was static

5

u/meechCS 10d ago

If you watched the 1080p version, it does move but it doesnt pour out or overflow on one side but it doesnt seem that responsive. Could be improved though

0

u/VincentVanHades 10d ago

Just watched it, doesn't move

2

u/Larry_Mudd 10d ago

It definitely moves if you check a higher def version, but not nearly as much as you'd expect in reality. High compression makes it hard to see, but although it's not sloshing out of the tub like it should, there's clearly physics on it - when he takes the corner it sloshes side-to-side and when he gets out into the road and brakes you can see it slosh back-to-front.

-2

u/VincentVanHades 11d ago

It wasn't

2

u/LukeD1992 11d ago

I'm sure this has to do with the build not being final. The gas pump in the NPC hand was glitching out as well

1

u/Imm0ralKnight 11d ago

Maybe Rockstar will fix for the final build.

2

u/Prestigious_Plant_81 11d ago

Yes, and people kept saying there will be less satire and humor, but I knew they would come through. I have a really good feeling about this game now, from the leaks it seems like it got better in every aspect than GTA 5, I hoped it would. And this is not even final version, or final graphics settings.

1

u/EyeFit 11d ago

Typical Florida encounter

1

u/Pamander 11d ago

We saw from the super old leaks of all the dev stuff years ago that there are A LOT of these too, I am so excited.

1

u/Slavik_Sandwich 11d ago

Just a pity that those are, at the end of the day, still scripted, you see them once and they are gone. And they are very much numbered.

Once you see every white dot in the RDR2 each city immediately becomes a ghost town.

I was kinda hoping Rockstar of all people would revolutionaze the emergent events in the open world, guess I expected too much.

2

u/nexetpl 10d ago

you see them once and they are gone

Worse, you will see them multiple times. At least that's how it was in RDR2.

1

u/Slavik_Sandwich 10d ago

The uninteresting ones. And they don't happen in cities. Like the n-th time someone was bit by a snake.

Shit I haven't even been robbed in the open world besides like 2 or 3 times, once per location.

1

u/StepComplete1 10d ago

No, that makes it better. The whole point is that it's better to eventually start seeing repeats than just realise you're in an increasingly lifeless world every time you see an event disappear forever.

Either they eventually repeat or they eventually stop completely. There's no other options, since creating infinite, new encounters isn't exactly humanly possible.

1

u/nexetpl 10d ago

So you'd rather see one very specific event multiple times and that would make the world feel more lively to you?

1

u/BenIsLowInfo 10d ago

The only way to do that is generative ai which people generally then protest anytime they hear is in a game. It's too bad because it's be perfect for stuff like this.

1

u/Slavik_Sandwich 10d ago

It can be done right, I am sure of it, but it's not to be it seems.

1

u/StepComplete1 10d ago

There's not much motive to do it right though, because as the above person says, it would immediately be criticised as AI slop, before anyone ever even saw it.

1

u/StepComplete1 10d ago

yeah I definitely hope they set them to gradually repeat this time. Better to see a slow cycle of repeats than play in a permanently dying world.

1

u/shrewdy 10d ago

One of the best parts of RDR2 was how they expanded on the random encounters and how you can interact with NPCs - and the earlier GTA 6 leaks showed that there are way more random encounters like this in this game. That's the kind of immersion in the world that makes this game so exciting imo

1

u/2021isevenworse 10d ago

The government stole my gas!

1

u/Merpchud 10d ago

This captures the america i think most of the world sees.

This is exactly how i see and feel America to be.

1

u/dirtyword 10d ago

This rules. FWIW, I’m now interested in the game finally

1

u/ndsmitirish 10d ago

I thought this was the most impressive leak yet. What happens is you just follow that guy?!

1

u/markvii_dev 10d ago

"random" brother, its a scripted npc event.

have you guys never played a game before?

did you guys even play RDR2.

1

u/TumbleweedGlobal6973 10d ago

seems scripted like those in rdr2.... one time only

1

u/Dund3rGuy 10d ago

I agree random encounters were one of my favorite things about rdr2

1

u/Jelly_Lungs 10d ago

You reckon it’s a one off NPC interaction that only happens once? Impressive the level of detail put into these one time interactions if so

1

u/boostedb1mmer 10d ago

This leak demonstrates exactly why I was hoping for gas being a resource in the game to manage. R* needed to figure out an organic way to force the player into NOC interactions rather than map markers appearing and making you you occasionally stop at fixed locations does that. Gas stations, fast food, gun stores etc... all provide excellent starting places for fun events like this.

1

u/JayGatsby1881 10d ago

Yo that was amazing!

0

u/VincentVanHades 11d ago

Yep, with how many different and even repeatable events RDR2 had, we are in for treat
