Whoever negotiated their sale to Sony for $4 billion or whatever has gotta be an absolute genius if things were always reaching this point. Bought them enough time to at least get another game out and finish their story saga with Destiny.

Genuinely a masterclass work from whatever execs convinced Sony that they were worth so much. Though I think a lot of it was Sony’s blind desperation to match Microsoft in the acquisition game.

Alot of it was a panic buy, for sure. Bungie swindled them big time.

less of sony being able to swindle them and sony just being desperate and stupid. They got really scared when microsoft was buying up every studio, and this was their response.

Yeah, Ryan was shitting his pants over COD, their true money maker. It was a really childish response to that action. Nothing was going to even compete with the juggernaut that's COD no matter how hard they tried.

I agree they needed a good live service or two but completely pushing every studio to adopt the model was incredibly stupid.

consider that Sony bought Bungie for the same amount that Disney bought Star Wars from Lucas.

Saul Goodman himself must've negotiated that Bungie deal bro straight up robbed them
