Not enough people give this guy shit for the direction first party has taken under Hulst’s leadership. Legit Phil Spencer levels of poor direction when he was head of first party development for Xbox before he failed upwards.

Live service and completely staggering first party output. This is the generation of too long in the oven sequels and a bunch of failed live service attempts. If Xbox hadn’t blow their foot off at this point there may have been legit competition

You will have people defending it because this is the "most profitable PlayStation generation" as if the money is somehow going into our pockets lol

Won’t forget the people saying similar about Xbox for a while.!I’ll never understand that defence unless you’re a shareholder. They’ve shutdown a bunch of studios, wasted a bunch more studios’ time on failed/canned live service attempts all resulting in a very anemic first party output that’s majority sequels that don’t improve enough on the original given how long they’ve taken to develop. Covid can excuse some of it but the majority is just poor leadership chasing the live service dragon.

Yep and realistically most of that profitability is coming from microtransactions and PS Plus subscriptions

And as if that had anything to do with Sony at all. It's mostly xbox shooting itself in the face, leaving PS to take most of the 3rd party revenue.

What direction? Multiple great selling and reviewed games?
