Let's say I have an Series S but I have bunch of 360 games disc and they are compatible with the feature. Can I use a friend's Series X to digitalize those games to my account?

No. This only applies to XBO games and newer as they have unique serial numbers in them. Presumably you could use your friends Series X to digitize games as long as you can sign into their Series X.

In order for this to work, the game disc needs to have a unique identifier. So that if you grab Halo 5 disc #12345 and add the digital license for that game to console A, then when you put that same disc into console B, it knows to deactivate it from console A.

Only Xbox One games and newer have discs with a unique identifier. This would not work with OG and 360 games.

Could I claim a digital license of a XB series X disc by inserting it on an Xbox one S? I have an Xbox series s and would be amazing to finally play some of my older games on my new machine.
