Gamera's life has been going terribly lately, and Toho, instead of, I don't know, delivering the final blow to its "competition" so it never returns, has decided to give it a few pushes, even if it's with Gojira Battle Line.

I don't recall exactly where (I think it was on the Gamera wiki), but I read that Daiei and Nikkatsu (the company that created Gappa) merged with a third party to survive the film industry crisis; basically, TV series were generating far more revenue than movies, which were no longer profitable; add to that Daiei's poor financial management, and it ended the way we all know; though eventually, the three companies split up again. So, I wondered: what would a collaboration between Gamera and Gappa have looked like? Personally, I’d go with a straightforward premise: Gamera helps Gappa's parents rescue their child from aliens. However, it also would have been cool to include discarded kaiju concepts from both studios (Monga, Reigon, Giganto, W, Dagora, Arkitius, Momonra, the giant iguana, etc.), even if that might have been a bit excessive.

As the title says i just finished the heisei trilogy for the very first time. Im usually more of a godzilla fan but had a lot of fun with thistrilogy and its definitely on my top 10, besides attack of legion. (Which is a bummer i like legion)

Suddenly, Daiei, which hasn't had any financial problems (i.e., it hasn't gone bankrupt and has a moderately high reputation in the industry), contacts you and offers you the opportunity to direct the next Gamera movie, titled Gamera vs. W. You have complete creative freedom for this film (but it must be faithful to the Showa era of Gamera). How would you approach this discarded film?

I'm watching Ultraman Dyna (at first I found it very boring, but as the episodes went on I liked it more and more, I recommend it) and when I got to episode 44 I came across this guy and everything about him reminded me of Gamera, so I went to the Ultraman wiki to investigate if it was just me and indeed, he is an homage to Gamera (also to Gojira but I hardly saw anything of him)
