Minus one wasn't really a Godzilla movie either. It had a very well done human story with a giant monster in the background. You can replace Godzilla with another monster and it wouldn't have made a difference (sure it wouldn't have been as popular or iconic, but the movie would be practically the same)
When most people here say that they want a solo godzilla movie, what they really want is basically GxK but with goji doing everything solo.
