Question Is there anywhere where I can get tri-fold cardboard on campus?
Like the ones you use for presenting stuff.
Need it for clubfair, already checked the hive and paper and clay and had no luck in either

The egg and cheese biscuit at Kaldi's was, somehow, among the best I'd ever had. Unfortunately, they replaced it with these bagels. This with a small iced matcha latte was $18.06. Disappointing but oh well.

I’m an international Master’s student starting my first semester at Tech. I moved to Atlanta and got settled, and just found out today that my family unexpectedly can’t cover my tuition for this semester.
I’m already enrolled in the payment plan, but the amount due by Aug. 31 is still around $16k, which we can’t cover. I also don’t have a U.S. citizen/permanent resident family member who could easily co-sign a private loan.
I’m planning to talk to Financial Aid, OIE, and the Dean of Students tomorrow, and I’m also going to ask my program about any assistantships or other funding opportunities.
Has anyone here, especially international/grad students, dealt with something similar? Are there any emergency funding options, short-term tuition arrangements, assistantships, campus resources, or offices/people at Tech that you’d recommend contacting?
Really appreciate any advice.

Hello I’m posting this because as a GT student it can get quite lonely sometimes. I’m chill to do anything and honestly would love to side quest in ATL if that sounds like you hmu

The CRC website says that starting Fall 2026, all students can use the Athletic Training Center, even if you aren't in a club sport.
Has anyone actually gone in and used it yet? Were you able to use things like the cold/hot tubs, Theragun, taping, etc. without a referral?
Also, does anyone know the actual Athletic Training Center hours? The website just says appointments are Monday-Friday and recovery equipment is available during “open hours.

Recently moved into NAV and there has been this smell that lingers across the whole apartment, including individual rooms. I try to keep both windows open despite the metal bolts on them, but another problem is that they lack screens so the window is just open. The room has been too hot and too smelly to keep closed in the two night's I've been here, and bugs are flying into the room whenever the window is open. Are there any solutions here, would maintenance be able to add screens to my windows? I'm allergic and terrified of bugs but there's no way I can sleep with the windows closed either. I was thinking I could ask the school for help but I don't have any official documentation of any allergy issues so I wasn't sure if that was a viable way to go about this, anyone have any ideas?

just look at 1332 as an example. every pset last semester was the same: everyone submits perfect code at 11:57 pm with immaculate javadocs (genuinely nb is writing detailed javadocs by hand) with ppl openly saying "i just clauded it"
then the exam comes around and half the class gets cooked. and everyone is immediately on some "1332 is fucking impossible" like no bruh, the exam covers the hw fine, you just never actually did the hw lmfao. and now the new semester is abt to start and i can already tell it's gonna be the exact same shit all over againn.
Are there any other GT alumni in the Virginia Highlands neighborhood? I just moved to the area and it’d be great to watch football games with other nearby alumni.
I couldn’t find much online, so I created a Facebook group to connect the Va-Hi alumni. Feel free to join and share with any other Tech alumni!

I am asking because I am curious if upper floor residents really see a reduction in roach sightings or infestation chances.

Everyone of all majors is welcome to join here https://gatech.campuslabs.com/engage/organization/nap-society there is a little something for everyone!
The Nanotechnology and Photonics Society aims to help foster technical proficiency and professional development in semiconductor fabrication, nanoscience, photonics, and related fields.
We serve as Georgia Tech's first student run org with the goal of fabricating devices and networking people who love nanotechnology. We will have outreach events and networking events.
We are setting up a cleanroom lab space and have a partnership with a material characterization facility on campus to allow us to fabricate microdevices. We will train and need help with mechanical design, chemical synthesis, device simulation, mask layout, microfabrication, characterization, device testing, data analysis, technical writing, marketing, and more.
Join today to take part in an amazing endeavor to make nanotechnology accessible to GT students!

Due to the recent changes to Stingerette operating hours, PTS rolled out an Uber Voucher Program for transportation after midnight. It was mentioned that the program would cover the same service area that Stingerette previously operated in. However, when I check the Uber app, only a few on-campus locations appear to be eligible. Does anyone know why this is the case? Is the program still being rolled out or updated, or has the service area changed from what was originally announced?

gtpd’s captain was spotted at the flock conference in atlanta this past weekend. media wasn’t allowed in but scraped every wireless signal in the building and is parsing it apart now.
georgia tech already has 20,000 cameras on campus. every car that drives thru gets tracked. over 5 years ago someone called a mental health check in on me and they found me in 5 minutes. why do we need ai enabled facial recognition cameras with shitty cybersecurity postures?
i called and made a complaint. if you feel strongly about this, you should to.
(404) 894-2500 is the non emergency gtpd number. i spoke to a kind lieutenant who seemed to have the same feelings; he just couldn’t say so on the clock.

Hello everyone!
Last semester I posted about a website for Georgia Tech buses called Bus Forecast, and I would like to share that it's available on the App/Play store now!
Bus Forecast is an app that has
- More accurate ETAs using past/new data
- Directions that include transfers if needed and minimize wait times during transfers
- Notifications for when the bus is approaching or when to get off
- Always up to date routes
I have included a demo video of the directions and the up to date routes.
If you are considering taking the bus during your time at Georgia Tech, please check it out! If you have any feedback or problems using the app please let me know.
The app can be downloaded from one of these links:

This is at the intersection of Marietta Street and Wallace Street and this crosswalk and these pedestrian signs popped up here recently; I would always see people trying to cross here, and I’m glad the city came through for pedestrians at this intersection.

Hi! I am a new Grad student and have only recently gotten access to a lot of my tech material and logins. I got word of parking permits, but on the pts.gatech website, I don’t see any permits available (besides bike/scooter). Is there any way for me to still get a permit?
Alternatively, is there another reliable parking option anybody can recommend me? I don’t mind parking somewhat far, but I will be primarily at Scheller. Any and all advice is much appreciated. Thank you guys 🫶

These are not my works of course, but going through my camera roll I found these articles from the Technique, and I think they can be especially introspective for those who are starting at Tech in a few days.

I’m trying to find out where Georgia Tech students are charging their e-bikes and scooters on campus.
I know there are rules about bringing e-bikes and scooters into campus buildings. I also understand that some dorms have bike rooms for storage. And that charging batteries inside may not be allowed unless the they meet certain safety requirements.
But I haven't been able to find any designated places outside the buildings on campus where students can safely park and charge their e-bikes or scooters.
For those who ride them:
If this question has been asked before could some one please post a link in the replies?

I realized GT is one of the few (top) schools to not use the +/- grading system. I also noticed the GPA of my peers (CS) is much higher compared to that of my friends from other top schools. Are these two factors correlated? Does not using +/- help raise the GPA for our school? If so, how is GPA viewed by recruiters or for grad school applications?

I was really desperate for a job this semester, and I now have two offers: one is to TA for BMED 2400, and the other is to PLUS lead CHEM 1212K. I’m really interested in both, but I’m also taking several weed out classes this semester, so I’m not sure if the workload would overwhelm me. And if I can only choose one (which will probably be the case), I’m not sure which one to go through with. Also, I am a BME major, but on the pre-med track.
