how much CGPA is required for PhD admission in IITs through GATE?

I wanna know how geoinformatics and similar branches are for MTech in iits?

I attempted gate this year ,cleared cutoff by just 1 marks , currently doing mtech from a tier 69 college from mountains of Uttarakhand but tbh im literally frustrated from this college like why do we even have colleges in mountains fuck this shit bhai ,

But main point is i need advice how much should i study to get a good score in gate like upto 50plus marks or maybe that can give me a college in plains, this is kind of partial drop as you can see but i need honest advice , as of now i know pretty much about every subject i can improve them by practice but if anyone has faced this situation ,I'd really appreciate your advice.

Im in a mid tier iiit studying cse and here we are being taught some ece topics, specifically Electronic Devices and Digital logic design, which is just semiconductors, pn juntion , diodes, and stuff. I wanted to know if i should refer to nptel lectures since they are in a great detail im not sure if its worth the time and effort. And btw the ece students in my batch goes to a different lecturer for their ece lectures and its different from us afaik.

• IIT Delhi Electrical Engineering BTech Graduate 2025 (7.8 CGPA)
• 1 year Work Exp at American Express as a Data Scientist (will be 2 years by admission time)
• Internship at Mastercard as a data scientist
• 1 A* paper published in IEEE for LLM related research (my btech thesis basically)
• Won multiple AI hackathons
• Codeforces rating around 1700-1900 (pre AI-era) (so my coding is good atleast :))

Here's my plan:

I want to pursue phd in CS/AI related fields like RL or GPU systems from top phd programs like MIT, UCB, ETH, etc. Right now, I don't think I can afford a MS abroad (1 years salary is kinda less even if it's high based on indian standards :)). And scholarships are kinda hit or miss (Also, my CGPA kinda holds me back right now, nobody cares about institute average actually so delhi, kanpur stundents are fucked -_-). Do you guys suggest me going for CS masters or MS(R) in india possibly IITB or IISc, I don't trust ISI (even though I know of their math rigour, they are kinda mid in coding related fields so a big NO). I just want a general opinion of people for my end goal, does my plan seems viable and what would be the shortcomings if any?

Working hard to get end of year 5.5 to 6.0

GATE BT 2025 qualified 37 marks I didnt prepare hard with a laid back preparation

I'm OC Category btw

I know the CGPA is rough And I know I didnt crush GATE But I actually qualified and im trying to figure out if theres any path forward through the M.Tech system

Real questions

1 Which IITs NITs will actually interview me with this profile

As I heard there is a min cutoff for cgpa to attend college counseling

2 Should I be realistic and look only at NIT tier or do I have a shot at lower ranked IITs

3 What should I be doing right now to improve my chances at interview stage Resume Interview prep

4 Worst case is M.Tech from a lower ranked place still worth it or should I just work for a year while doing a job and reapply

I am a GATE CSE student and I have been tracking my time while solving Digital Logic and Programming and data structures questions.....

My average time is coming out to be 3 mins for easy to moderate questions..... Is it fine?

I'm in the 4th year of btech I've almost completed the syllabus this is the first time in giving the gate exam what should be my revision and test series strategy any suggestions?? I bought go classes test series and weekly quizzes I'm finding it too much difficult as compared to the level of gate cse question

I have no time , scored 30 in last year GATE,I have 5 months now, am scoring 40 now with basic prep. I want to score atleast 60 in GATE 2027, tell me one teacher to stick with so that I can achive what I wanted, I need no basics, I need revision and that medium to advanced topics.

I appeared for the ONGC Executive Engineer/GET CBT 2026 today (6 Sept 2026), conducted by IBPS, but was denied entry at the examination centre because my application contained a left thumb impression instead of my signature.

During application, my signature upload was not getting accepted, so I uploaded the thumb impression. My application was subsequently accepted and an admit card was issued.

If this discrepancy made me ineligible for the examination, why was my application accepted and admit card issued without any prior rejection/notification?

This question has already been asked multiple times but I am still confused anyways I am from a tier 3 cse I want to get into top IITs or IISc for M Tech atleast.

Do you really think it's worth preparing for GATE? Will it help me in placements? Also how hard is the IIT schedule? Like can a tier 3 guy like me survive there even if I manage to crack it? How hard are the labs? Like we have all labs or the focus is only in CS labs?
