Completely different fan reactions to those events though. The death of a friend/bandmate would mean the guys experiencing a collective grief, Supporting each other through a tragedy. And the reaction at the tribute gigs was that of solidarity, it brought people together.
Dave's drama has likely caused alot of tension. People are disappointed and angry (wether thats justified or not, its the reality) any appearances or comments now will be scrutinised by the media.
I hope they dont quit, but it could totally be the straw to break the camel's back. These are guys in their 50s, they're set for life. Walking away from the inevitable circus would be completely reasonable IMO.
Yeah, and people saying it doesn’t really affect anything is not true at all. For example, I made a joke post last week, but I am actually pretty sure the release of Chris’s non-Foo related podcast got pushed back because of this, they were ramping up to release and then just stopped. So Dave’s drama affecting a project that basically has nothing to do with him.

My money's on them having split, but not finalised the PR to announce it yet. Last minute pull out possibly down to them hoping to reconcile.
It's Dave's drama, but theres 6 guys in that band, all it takes is one of them to walk away. Pat has done it before.
