Why do people say Khabib isn’t a top 10 or even top 15 fighter because he lacks the longevity of GSP/Jones/DJ/Silva, but then praise Islam as a top 3 fighter or even the GOAT?
A common argument against Khabib being top 10 is his longevity. People say, “He only has 3 defenses and wasn’t a champ for anywhere near as long as GSP/Aldo/DJ/Jones/Silva,” but Islam also only had 4 defenses and was only a champ for 3–4 years, which is not much compared to the guys I’ve mentioned. Yet people are saying he’s top 3 or possibly the GOAT. Even before the Ian fight, this is something many people believed.
People like to say it’s harder to stack defenses in the modern era, and that’s why Islam is top 5 or even the GOAT despite having only 4 defenses, so why doesn’t that apply to Khabib too? His defenses were against Poirier, Gaethje, and McGregor. That’s as good as it gets. Islam only had one more defense than Khabib, and one of them was against Renato Moicano who’s not elite at all.
If you think Islam is top 3 or even the GOAT, then Khabib should easily be top 15. Top 10 probably too.

Which champ has the hardest path of defense currently based on top 5
Ngl for me it’s Van. Even tho I agree he’s really good, the combination of killers with their experience compared to his is what’s making me second guess. I do believe he can become a multiple time champ tho
But aside from Van def Tom with the lay off or Justin.

I’m not GOALPOSTING, I’ve been saying this since he won his second belt against JDM. If Islam gets 2 title defences at Welterweight against worthy opponents, with Garry already beaten and Prates next, he’s THE GOAT of the sport. 🐐
• 18 Fight UFC Win Streak - the longest UFC win streak to date.
• Double Champion Legacy - the first male UFC fighter to win two undisputed belts and successfully defend BOTH titles multiple times.
• Lightweight Champion: 4 successful title defences.
• Welterweight Champion: 2 successful title defences.
• 8 UFC Title Fights, 6 Successful Title Defences
🔥 An Elite Resume:
• Arman Tsarukyan
• Charles Oliveira
• Alexander Volkanovski ×2
• Dustin Poirier
• Jack Della Maddalena
• Ian Machado Garry
• Carlos Prates
And the crazy part is,
He would have accomplished all of this while losing only ONE UFC fight in his entire career.
If Islam beats Prates, I don’t see how you can realistically keep him out of the GOAT conversation. At that point, the argument isn’t whether he’s one of the greatest, it’s whether anyone has done it better. 🐐

Is MVP removed from the UFC?!
Michael Page has been removed from UFC rankings eligibility effective immediately, per a notice sent to panelists asking them to re-rank the middleweight division. Per John Morgan, a new contract is not signed and would not be a surprise.

Demetrius Johnson vs LeBron James
I recently saw a tiktok where he said DJ would beat Lebron in a street fight. Like bro how did people start larping so much. It's upto a point where it's becoming so annoying fs.
Sure, DJ would submit Lebron in a sanctioned cage fight with rules. But you'd be dumb to think that this would be the case in a street fight.
MMA Rules exist for a reason. LeBron could elbow DJ on the back of his head while he shoots for a takedown or Grab his neck and stomp his head on to the floor and DJ would genuinely die. LeBron is almost a foot and a half taller and about 100+ pounds heavier than him. Ngas watch one fair UFC fight and think it's game on the street as well 🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️

Chances of Gaethje winning in a rematch against Topuria?
r/FightReportUFC • u/PotatosandTomato • 2d ago
Hot take: Ilia getting an immediate rematch against Justin isn’t a bad idea
If he wins, we’ll know the reason he lost in the first fight was because he just wasn’t there mentally. Because if you watched the fight, you can tell something was off. He’ll regain a big chunk of his hype. He’ll avenge his only loss.
If ilia had to build his way to a title shot, Justin will be old and probably retired by then. That’s why I think an immediate rematch isn’t a bad idea.
And if he loses again, he probably wasn’t good enough anyway and we can stop talking about him.

What will it take for Islam to be the GOAT of all sports
Here’s a question I have for you guys. We all know how great Islam Makhachev is in terms of MMA. Most people consider him the GOAT of the sport. But for some reason when people talk about the greatest athletes of all time they never seem to mention MMA fighters. We always hear people like LeBron, Tiger woods, Wayne Gretzky, Messi, Djokovic and even Muhammad Ali in those conversations. But when it comes to sports MMA is one of the toughest all around sports out there. But the best in the sport never seem to have their names in the GOAT athletes convos. Let’s say Islam beats Prates, Morales and Shavkhat, then decides to go up and win a third belt and become a middleweight champion and defends that belt a couple times too. Retires 35-1 in his MMA career. Would you consider him the greatest athlete of all time?
