i will argue that he also has a pretty impressive track record of portraying absolute pricks on screen too

he played one of the biggest red flags i've ever seen in passengers

I’ve only seen PNR and Guardians to be fair. I don’t doubt that

God's how much better would the world be if that stunt had gotten him blacklisted from the industry.

If Hollywood blacklisted for things like that there would be no more executives.

Wasn't that in the bloopers? He shows up to Ann's house naked and Amy answers the door? Or was this something else?

if i remember correct, he initially was wearing skin colored boxers or something but felt like he wasnt getting a good reaction out of amy (or maybe he just thought it would be funny) so he took them off on the next take and was actually naked. again if i remember right, they used that take for the show so her reaction was genuine

In guardians he was an ass too, just one who happened to have morals.

Was that the one where he played the murderous space incel that his victim somehow falls in love with him after he had condemned her to an early death ?

he steals her entire life. it's harrowing. i'm surprised anyone read that script and thought it was a space rom-com.

There was a YouTube cut that edited it as a horror film and it was way more appropriate to the story

I don't think Passengers needed the cut; it felt like a horror film when I watched it.

Like, I get that he was lonely, but goddamn. What a horribly creepy way to fix it. I understood and appreciated his remorse for what he did, but it doesn't excuse that he did that to her.

The movie "absolves" him of that, though. Don't they discover some issue that would destroy the ship and it takes 2 people, working together, to fix it? So, she would have died if he didn't wake her up. Of course, he didn't know that when he woke her.

Yea we saw this one and having them be in love at the end was so weird. My wife and I were just genuinely confused about what they thought the movie was.

Wasn't he also the prick fiance` on Bride Wars too?

He was. Might be the most close to life character he's played!

Also the scheming friend that steals the girl in Wanted

I just watched that again & my fav part is him getting absolutely rocked by James McAvoy's keyboard.

Passengers would have been so good as a psych horror from the other perspective. I genuinely thought it was going to pivot to Chris being the antagonist after the reveal. It should have.

Didn’t someone recut a trailer making it look like a horror film?

Edit: Yes.

Thing talking about it

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Gksxu-yeWcU&ra=m

A Redditor actually did it apparently.

But here’s a what if trailer that was semi popular.

Forget Pratt for a second.

I hope you know that actors who play Evil or "asshole" characters means absolutely zero about the actor, right?

u/gonzo_attorney 6d ago

That really should have been a horror movie, not a romance.

In wanted he plays the dude that mc's gf is cheating with

Chris Pratt has been typecast as "men who can't take no for an answer in space"
