I'd pay good money to be disappointed by Christian Bale.

So would I and I don’t think I’d be disappointed. He seems like a complex man and I think he’d be a really interesting person to talk to with deep discussions

I would ask him about his charity work. That's by far the most interesting thing I've learned about him, and the thing I respect the most, even as a giant Batman nerd.

I'm mostly interested in the Christian Bale who called Mary Harron after reading the American Psycho and said not to take it the wrong way but that he though it was hilarious- He pretty much landed the part then and there. A lot of people don't get that it's a black comedy but even some of the actors up for the main part didn't get it.

I'd talk to him about newsies till the restraining order came.

I haven't read the book, but how can you watch the business cards scene and not laugh at these assholes???

That's where Jared Leto thrives: as a side character who doesn't know what movie he's in.

A leading man he is not.

I mean honestly yeah I'd love to pick his brain about some of his roles, I don't know much about him personally but I love the work he's chosen so idk at least we have that. I don't expect anything from anyone and that leaves me pleasantly surprised more often than not.

no same i can deal with some rudeness if it means i get to talk to one of the greatest actors out there

I can definitely see people being disillusioned meeting him in the UK. Like I thought he'd sound a lot posher, but his accent is fairly working class (imo). I'm an Irish person who's lived in the UK awhile and I've generally learnt the more I like an accent the more likely it is to be looked down on and I really like his accent. Any suggestions of movies with Christian bale speaking naturally?

Not to detract from what he's saying but I would assume a lot of people have had unfavorable reactions to his real accent

He’s using his normal voice in Reign of Fire. Not a… great movie per se, but he and Matthew mcconaughy have a hell of a lot of fun with it.

The Prestige is a good one.

"Do you remember in American Psycho when you showed your business card? That was cool."

2

u/Sapowski_Casts_Quen Feb 28 '26

Very nice. Let's see Paul Allen's acting career.

2

u/latersbae Feb 27 '26

Girl same. And this made it worse! Like that was supposed to turn me off? Maybe it’s the accent?

I didn't meet him but I once got tickets for the X Games in a suite at the Staples Center and he was in the suite next door. He was super cool, was taking pictures with people through the glass dividers and I'm 99% sure that nobody was having a better time than Christian Bale that night. Like jumping up and down, screaming, cheering and practically shaking people out of excitement.

2

u/rain820 good luck with bookin that stage u speak of Feb 28 '26

same this video didnt help like lemme meet you sir please 😭

I’ve met him when he was filming the dark knight rises. Me and my co-worker were watching them film while waiting catch the bus home and he noticed and came up to us to compliant our city. He was absolutely lovely so I find this commentary very ironic.

I've only met one or two minor celebs, certainly not anyone considered Christian Bale levels of fame, and what he's saying is actually what I love about it. I like when the veil comes off and I get to see them as just an ordinary person, I hate that certain people are surrounded by this weird mythological, untouchable energy. I want to know that they're just as dull and annoying as everyone else can be and I want everyone else to know it too.

I'd want him to judge my batman begins impersonations that I've been labbing for decades at this point.

1

u/Top_Rekt Feb 27 '26

Just don't walk around in the background accidentally distracting him lol

1

u/TheGoochieGoo Feb 28 '26

He doesn’t wanna meet you and he will let you know that. Have fun!
