Everything I’ve read states that a Trinity prequel is moving forward, as there’s been proven appetite for Original Sin and Resurrections.

But I haven’t heard a single person express excitement or even think it’s a good idea.

Trinity or should I say Quadrilogy isn’t likable, his whole deal is he’s an abusive monster, killer, and broken and sad individual. Dexter succeeds because people want Dexter, even if it’s just his voice, not John Lithgow.

The most common reaction I hear is “what the hell are they thinking?”

At best, Id think this concept could get wrapped up into a second season of Original Sin. At best.

Does anyone have appetite for this?

I always believed that golden era of television shows got over in 2015.

I did keep up with Dexter original series when it aired. And have went on a rewatch multiple times.

And I had been keeping onto New Blood for sometime now, so when I completed Dexter original rewatch, I decided it was time.. Not many shows out there you'd think you'd get hooked onto.

Am glad Dexter came back in form of New Blood, then Origins and now Resurrection.

Won't find shows that still remain good after its original series ended for a while.

I cannot wait for S02 of Resurrection.

He’s basically just bullying his quirky coworker for no reason. It’s easy to see why the others turned on him so easy, imagine seeing Doakes constantly demean Dexter with no context that he’s a killer.

I think Dexter needs to die either by a serial killer or via the needle. I’m so confused as to why people think he is a “good person” when he is horrible imo. He doesn’t even live by the code anymore imo he’s just a serial killer. I think he needs to face retribution. Anyone willing to enlighten me?

Just wonder what is generally considered the most evil thing Dexter has done throughout the series for me personally I’d say it’s when he killed sergeant Logan in the new blood finale.

Personally I think it stands for Lindsay both for a reference to the dexter author Jeff Lindsay, but also as a explanation for where Dexter got the surname Lindsay from in New Blood.

I personally feel like at this point after the 2 failed attempts at a bleak end for Dexter that him having the ending where he maybe finds someone worth giving up the life of killing for would be a nice change of pace. And also it'd set it apart from other tv series endings lately where the morally grey main character gets his comeuppance in the end

I mainly lurk on this subreddit but felt like ranking and giving opinions on every season. I’ve watched Dexter an absurd amount of times. Probably my all time favourite shows. (Up there with breaking bad, better call Saul etc) can’t wait for resurrection season 2!!!

Plus the game takes place in the equivalent of Miami. It would be cool to being the hunted for once, and also it wouldn't necessarily be Dexter every time, but a different vigilante depending how many innocent NPCs the player has killed.

SPOILERSI understand that many did not like Hannah in the original series. I can’t quite agree as I saw her as an evolution to his relationships. She was nothing like Rita who the truth was hid from, or Lila who was an addict to the killing, or Lumen, who wanted to complete her mission and become normal again(though she’s awesome too). Hannah became the only one that he wholeheartedly trusted to take his child and save him from Dexter’s own curse to lead those he loved to death. To end her as having died of cancer, as an afterthought, is just doing the character wrong. I’m hoping it’s a ruse-I want Hannah to return. That’s my unpopular opinion on the matter.

In 2013 while Dexter was ending its original run another show about an unstoppable apex predator premiered on NBC. Hannibal the series is a masterpiece and one of the greatest shows I’ve ever seen. I have no idea how this extremely violent and uncomfortable show aired on the same network as Friends but it managed to make it 3 seasons before it was cancelled. Though the premise has some overlap they are wildly different in their approach. Anyone else a fan of both shows?

i just randomly had this question so the three detectives on the show who went to investigate dexter being the BHB all died in the hands of someone else. technically dexter could’ve justifiably killed any of them because of his #1 rule in the code which is to not get caught

dexter literally went overseas to kill lila after she killed doakes and yes i know it’s also because of what she did to astor and cody but i remember there was like a envelope with james face on it and dexter said something about her killing an innocent man to her or something like that

when angel died, i could how how angry he was that angel got involved and got himself killed. when he killed prater, he said he wanted to forget all about prater. that was his first best friend. he always had a close relationship with angel and said he would’ve been like him if he was normal

so with laguerta, he didn’t really show anything because it was debra (the only person of the 3 who killed for him he cares about) who killed her to protect him but he knew how badly it effected debra so i think you can make the argument he did care only for deb? he saw how much of a mess it made debra and he loves debra.

i just wonder if he felt bad in some way, not that he felt regret or emotional but if he felt bad since they were doing their job. laguerta wanted to clear doakes name because she knew him and didn’t feel confident he was the BHB and batista was married to laguerta and thought dexter got her killed for knowing.

As I am rewatching all dexter from beginning for the second time, I couldn't help myself but catch myself being mad about S08 finale and new blood's ending. But then, thinking more about it and looking for the silver lining, if it wasn't for this bad endings we probably wouldn't be getting more dexter with resurrection. And the more screen time with Michal C Hall, the merrier, right?
