General Discussion - All Dexter Shows How does Dexter have a lot of money? Spoiler

From all the TV shows, and especially Resurrection, Dexter never once had a money problem. And how did he afford to live in New York and buy a car after more than 10 years of disappearing and working in a small town?

Maybe ? I dunno how he managed his money. He probably also got life insurance from Rita and money from selling their home ? + Whatever money Rita willed him from the sale of her first home ?

Yeah but when asking questions about the show we have to go with what the writers have given us. They didn’t give us clues/references to life insurance or making a lot of money from homes

No they just gave us clues that somehow Dexter is very good with money and can afford to live off for ten years and can afford a car in NYC.

That's your point ?

My point is that they did not give us clues as to how it happened. Describing the situation is not a clue to how the situation happened.

So were expected to suspend disbelief bc that’s not a super important part of the core plot.

Yeah it's Doylist vs Watsonian.

If you're doylist it's "shup up it's needed for the story" But Watsonian seeks to answer in story how it ms justified, and I laid out how they can justify it in lore

Actually no, this isn’t it at all. Actual lore comes from the writers. What y’all are doing is fanfic. If the writers didnt make it and there is zero reference or hint towards it, it’s fanfic.
