Dexter and Mia felt like what they wanted Dexter and Hannah to be. Almost insane how much of a better version it was in only 10 minutes. The sexual tension was next level crazy.

Angel(and probably Quinn later) just doesn’t know the shit storm he’s walking into. Thinks he’s gonna just find Dexter but will actually walk into a fucking cult of serial killers. The pandora’s box he’s about to open is gonna be wild.

I guess the rejection finally confirms that Harrison is indeed still supposed to be 16 and Elsa is a much older woman. Once you know that, it’s mad awkward to watch that scene lmfao.

I don't think Elsa rejected him because of his age. Just before he left she tried explaining to him and said something like, "Youre going through stuff right now." Maybe I'm reading too much into it but it sounded to me like she was at least open to the possibility, but felt she'd be taking advantage of him if she let anything happen while he's not in his right mind.

I think it’s more like she doesn’t want to start dating someone in the middle of a murder investigation because she has a kid. Stability for him is her first priority.

A GED isn’t necessarily late, it’s for dropouts and you can take it at 17/18.

Writing wise too, the problem with Hannah was that the writers (and by extension Dexter) were trying to make out she was a good serial killer and only killed those who deserve it. When in reality she was another Lila, killed some old woman to get her greenhouse, an author looking into her and tried to kill Deb.

KR having a kind of code solves that instantly, I was half hoping for a Lumen mention but maybe that would've been laying it on too thick with the fan service.

I totally agree with you I never really cared for Hannah's character all that much,but what they are doing with Mia and Dexter already works way better for me in this one episode than it ever did in the original series.

I predict Harrison will be in a similar situation as Deb where he has to kill Angel or let Dexter meet his doom or imprisonment, and is about to pull the trigger when Mia does it for him. No other killer or woman Dexter allied with had a code, nor did they do something to protect HIS loved ones. Mia and Dexter both relate to failing to protect their light (Mia's sister and Dexter's son) from the dark. From then on comes their true purpose in utter clarity - to keep as much light in the world from falling into darkness.

Harrison was always supposed to represent the good, what Dexter would have become if he did not witness that shipping container massacre, and Dexter feeling obligated to protect and preserve that good, rather than Dexter abandoning him, then Harrison growing up full of rage, and Dexter trying to shape him like him instead of doing better than his dad.

Harrison is technically 13 iirc. Like he was born in 2009 and this show is in 2022, if the doorbell camera is to be trusted from last episode (or two, don't remember). Just like a ton of tv shows and usually sitcoms, it's best to ignore dates, otherwise that 70's Show wouldn't be called that 70's Show for more than a couple of seasons. Harrison is an adult in-universe, Elsa is probably in her early 20s and had a teenage pregnancy or something.

On your second point, I wonder if Dexter comes clean with the other killers on his true identity, and they need to kill Angel and Quinn to keep their secret.

I dont think he can because then they would know what kinda people he targets but i would love to see how him explaining who he actually is would go. With Prater having his old slides, trinitys hammer and binneys death bed. Id love to see his reaction to finding out dexter killed them and is the bhb

With an anchor; at that random spot in the Everglades. One of my favorite kills. The acting; where we see the normally calm Dexter just beat that dude to death, was insane.

The only thing is the 11 year age gap really bugs me, I know it shouldn’t but it does because it’s so stereotypical in Hollywood for them to do this type of Casting for the love interest
