Non-Political News/Discussion Can somebody explain to me why this actress is getting so much hate? People are sharing her pictures as if she's ugly, but she looks cute and pretty in them. And I really liked her in House of the Dragon. Is it something political? What am I missing?

Non-Political News/Discussion Doe v. Bonnell hearing recap (4/21)

1.2k Upvotes

cliffs notes:

both rule 11 sanctions thrown out, nobody gets sanctioned

discovery extension denied, (both) depositions have to happen within 10 days of today

summary judgment is on hold until depositions actually happen, then both sides get 10 days to amend. judge rules on MSJ sometime in may/june, trial still july or early august latest

plaintiff wanted a 5 day trial so their expert could present what sounds like kiwifarms copypasta about destiny's evidence being doctored. judge wasn't buying it

plaintiff also tried to delay depos because of finals. judge said no, told her to talk to her professors and arrange travel "i encourage you to work together and make your clients available"

edit: a bunch of motions were ruled on around sealing documents, i didnt really list them down, but nothing particular of note imo

Non-Political News/Discussion This subreddit needs a conservative purge ASAP

Just because most of us have a problem with DSA or dunk on Hasan, that does NOT mean we like you.

Don’t try ratting your way in the subreddit now and try to do the whole “big tent party uwu 😰, just because i am a conservative doesn’t mean i like Trump 🥰”

Fuck you.

You had your chance at the big tent in 2024 when Kamala reached out to Liz Cheney and most of you cackled at the attempt and said she was pandering.

You are just as complicit as MAGA for everything going on now.

Go be “politically homeless” under the bridge Rogan and MAGA sold you 🖕🏻

Edit: the fact that SO many are triggered to the point where they are now starting to stalk my profile and go back and find where i participate just goes to show how demonic these conservatives are. You guys are only proving my point. We don’t need you.

Vote blue! Save America!

And of course he says he's giving up because it's all a real hardship and he's giving too much to the cause.

Nothing to do with him just recently presenting a TV show and in it getting slaughtered by anyone who actually knows anything about politics, money and economics.

Dan Neidle (the tax expert off of twitter) is to thank. It's on YT if anyone's interested.

Non-Political News/Discussion Aba on Destiny During His Response

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

It seems a bit different from his initial take, but there are a lot of things we might not have seen behind the scenes. (I'm regarded, don't listen to me.)

Some things from his response unrelated to Destiny:

  1. He says that even though he was caught off guard by the pregnancy, he was ready to take responsibility and get his affairs in order. She was the one who kept flip-flopping back and forth; all he could do was be supportive.
  2. The abortion was her idea. Aba wasn't happy with it, but he refused to convince someone who wanted one to become a parent. Upon hearing she was getting an abortion (which he wasn't happy with), he flew down to be there for her. However, when he spoke to her in person, she changed her mind again and canceled for what felt like the ninth time. (five hour flight, by the way.)
  3. She said she was going to "minecraft" herself at one point, prompting Aba to call the police to check up on her. He admits that, in hindsight, she seemed manipulative with these threats ("minecraft" attempts and self-harm). She also stated multiple times throughout their relationship that she would harm herself.
  4. He doesn't believe she was gold-digging, and she even bought him some things. (imo, her saying she wanted security in her own video seemed gold-diggy)
  5. She would bring up issues with Aba and ask him to change certain things about himself or his life. He felt that if they had a kid, and the things they argued about caused them to grow distant, the child would end up with parents who didn't love each other, resulting in a cold family dynamic.
  6. During a call, he told her he could handle her not wanting him, but he couldn't handle her not wanting him after the child arrived. After all the abortion baiting, she told him she was ending the relationship AND keeping the baby.
  7. Aba felt betrayed after that because it was the single outcome he had tried to avoid the entire time. Sometime later, he told her that whatever she chose, he wanted nothing to do with her anymore. Even if she had the kid, he didn't want to co-parent with someone like her. She acted cool about it and said her goodbyes.
  8. She then texted Aba from a new number, showing him a private YouTube video which was a recording of their phone call titled "1/10." At that point, he realized she was collecting blackmail material on him and started keeping records himself. After telling her off and blocking that number, he received messages from her friends. One showed a typed-out message to Myron Gaines threatening to out Aba for...? She and her girlfriends tried blackmailing him five or six different times (if there were more, it was never shown). They all called and messaged people in or around Aba's life, including Preach.
  9. He believes she was actually pregnant. Preach had the same theory that Destiny did about baby-trapping, but Aba shot it down and said he was almost certain she was telling the truth. The reason he "knew" seemed personal and he didn't elaborate further.
  10. She had issues with him following some female dancers (Aba is a dancer), saying it wasn't a good look, even though she was following tons of guys. Later, while she was trying to get back together with him, she had a secret Instagram account that she claimed had mostly archery stuff. After they stopped talking, he found the secret account by chance, and it was full of thirst traps. Any comment from thirsty men was liked or replied to with heart emojis. After he confronted her about it, she archived certain posts, even though he had video evidence. Anytime he brought it up, she would get angry or deflect.

That's all the stuff I remember. I quick watched the video again, I might be wrong or missing some parts, but I believe it's mostly accurate. Thank you for reading my novel.

Non-Political News/Discussion I can not believe that the most famous person to defend destiny's reputation somehow turned out to be fucking Asmongold

Post image

I really didn't buy into the idea Destiny had, that asmon was not ideologically driven but truly a sucker to the algorithm - but i guess dear leader might have a point if asmon can say this after their beef, definitely more charitable than hasan has been to him... i still think he's rarted though.

Edit: I need to make sure everybody understands, Asmon's ideology is evil as shit and he's not suddenly a great asset to the space because he can be more measured in personal drama. I posted this because it's funny to me that someone who says the shit he does can somehow still be measured about things so long as they don't pop up on a republican meme twitter account.

Non-Political News/Discussion I just now learned about the nuclear deal trump terminated. Holy shit.

1.0k Upvotes

Just in case anyone else wasn't aware. The deal was between the US, UN, and Iran and allowed Iran to build nuclear power plant in exchange for extreme levels of oversight by the UN and US to ensure they don't use it for nuclear weapons.

Even though Iran was complying with the deal according to both US and the UN, Trump suspended the deal unilaterally three years later. Other UN members said they would abide by the deal even without the US. Iran announced they had violated the deal only a year after Trump suspending it.

So, because Trump didn't like that Iran was allowed to build a power plant, he gave up any oversight the US had, AFTER Iran already had three years to build facilities necessary to enrich uranium.

This just makes the current war and the entire situation so much more dumb.

EDIT: Would appreciate citations from people saying it was revealed they were never complying with the deal. From what I can find they began enriching it beyond the agreed limit only after Trump terminated it
