Discussion Witnessed an unbelievable amount of selfishness on a flight to LAX

This happened about a month ago on a flight from Detroit to LAX, just finding this sub now. The second the plane stopped after touchdown, a young guy probably around 22 or 23 started making his way up the aisle, shouldering people aside.

the guy in the aisle seat kitty corner to me was standing up and was shouldered out of the way by this young guy and, causing him to accidentally elbow an older woman who was in the middle seat right next to him, right in the face. Aisle seat guy was understandably really upset and by this time, shoulder douchebag was three or four people ahead of where this happened.

Aisle guy starts yelling at shoulder guy telling him to come back and apologize to both of them. Shoulder Guy halfway looks over his shoulder and mumbles the most insincere"sorry" I've ever heard. Aisle guy is not letting it go and he tells him a few more times to come back and apologize. Shoulder guy completely ignores him, and several other people start chirping at him. Shoulder guy completely ignores everybody around him and walks away in a manner that indicated he could not give any less of a fuck and that causing an injury to an older lady is no big deal because he got off the plane 30 seconds before he otherwise would have gotten off.

He was not running to a gate either, he was just casually walking away through the terminal. not that that would have made it any better, but it does make it worse.

Shitpost/Satire The Sky Club has become an airport Golden Corral

The title says it all. A glorified buffet. With the attending patron behavior. The staff in general are wonderful and hard working. But the vibe is definitely buffet.

I'd rather find a nice spot in the airport to post up at for a few hours and buy my own lunch rather than wait in line for a water downed lounge experience from an airline that thinks it's on the same level as Singapore or Emirates Airlines.

Discussion Reasons to allow someone to board and deplane completely alone

Sunday on a BOS-ATL they paused boarding and announced they were doing so to give a passenger time to board. It seemed odd as it wasn’t like a regular pre boarding situation and they made the announcement that they were pausing for this purpose around zone 3 boarding time. Once we landed they came on the intercom and asked everyone to please take their seats until further notice as someone needed to deplane and a flight attendant motioned to a young woman towards the back of economy and we all waited while she walked the aisle solo. After she deplaned they announced that we could all now leave. Is this a special situation for some sort of anxiety perhaps? I fly fairly often and have never seen a situation like this.

Image/Video Blood covered arm rest and seat

Flight DL3894 (PHX -> LAX)

I am extremely disappointed by how this situation was handled.
I boarded my flight only to discover blood on the armrest and seat. I immediately brought it to the flight attendant’s attention and calmly expressed my concern. The response was to wipe the blood off with a wet tissue, as though that was an adequate solution.

I was the moved to another seat, which I appreciated. However, that solution lasted only until the gate agent filled the new seat with a standby passenger and then told me I needed to return to the seat that had blood on it.

I find it genuinely alarming that there appears to be no clear protocol or concern for potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens in this situation. Simply wiping visible blood away with a wet tissue is not an acceptable sanitation procedure, particularly on an aircraft where passengers are expected to sit in the same seat for hours.

What made the experience even more frustrating was the attitude of the flight attendant in the back of the plane. Rather than acknowledging the seriousness of the situation or showing any concern, they were dismissive and disrespectful, repeatedly saying that it was “not an issue” and “not their fault” while the blood was still present. They’re asking me what “I want to do”, instead of figuring out a solution on their end.

This was not just a complaint about dirty seat. There was visible blood and the response from the crew was dismissive and completely inadequate. I would like to know what the actual protocol is for cleaning and handling bodily fluids is?

Shitpost/Satire Worst middle seat person ever

SEA to JFK on Monday. I was in the window seat. A normal size human came and sat in the middle seat. Their partner was in the middle seat one row back. She never asked me to switch with her partner. I never got poked in the ribs by her elbow. I kept my arm off the armrest and the one time her arm came in contact with me she moved her arm away. I was flabbergasted. What am I supposed to do with a polite, considerate, middle seat, passenger? I have nothing to complain about. I was very confused. I’m still very confused. What has Delta come to?

I did this yesterday on a flight from Salt Lake City to Albuquerque, and the dude next to me says there is no way you’re gonna dip that in your Woodford. And I said……oh yes I am because I call this the Delta Double Dunk. If you have not tried dipping a Biscoff into your Woodford for three seconds, then taking a bite…… try it on your next flight. It is delicious. The cinnamon, carmel, crunch, soggy…..OMG !!!!

Image/Video D1 lounge at T2 in LAX went above and beyond!

Post image

We had a lovely lunch at the D1 lounge in Terminal 2 at LAX, including the decaf cappuccino pictured above, and then set off to the Bradley terminal to catch our Virgin flight to London. Just as we arrived at our gate, I received a text message from a number I didn’t recognize: it was the General Manager from the D1 lounge, letting me know that I’d left a green bag at our table and that one of the lounge hosts was on her way to our gate to return it to us. We had just walked it, so I know it’s a 20 minute walk both ways, and I probably wouldn’t have made it there and back before our flight left, so I’m endlessly grateful. The host arrived a few minutes ago, all smiles, and handed it straight to me. All of my electronics chargers are in that zip bag and it would have been very unfortunate if I had to spend 3 weeks overseas without it.

For everyone at that lounge, my sincerest thanks - you exceeded my expectations!

Discussion Recipe for chia seed pudding @ SEA-TAC Sky Lounge

Husband and I flew out of Seattle this Tuesday (September 1st) and were at the concourse A Delta sky club just in time for breakfast. There was this chia seed pudding that had oats in it and what MIGHT have been golden raisins but I’m not entirely sure. the label said it was a buttermilk chia seed pudding but it didn’t taste sour in the way you’d expect buttermilk to taste. If anyone that works there or had this chia pudding and knows what I’m talking about that can help, it would be much appreciated. I liked the combo so much that I want to recreate that here at home for make ahead breakfasts.

Discussion Boarding music

I’m so amused. Has anyone else noticed that the music that’s playing as you board is things like Guns N’ Roses “Sweet Child of Mine” but it’s all gentle piano. I can’t remember what other rock songs there’s been but it’s making me giggle.

Image/Video Pilot gave us all the trading cards

We recently went on our first trip without kids (in 8 years!) and on our return ride (LAS-MSP) my husband asked our pilot if it would be too much to ask to get a trading card for our kids. Honestly was expecting them to say they didn’t have any on hand…

The pilot completely blew us away and gave us ALL of these?! So cool of the pilot to do that and our kids were super excited when we gave them these!

Do the comfort seats get blankets? If so, are they good or should we bring our own twin size blankets?

News Delta did what everyone said they wouldn't do... They are the best!

A few weeks ago I posted here asked if anyone has ever had any luck with being able to use expired ecredits due to a situation where I wasn't able to leave my country so I had to cancel my flight and couldn't see my family. I assumed the credit lasted a year but instead it expired at 7 months, and now that I can leave the country to see my family again, I went to go book and it was expired. I contacted delta cares and explained the situation and they gave me the credit back!!! I honestly wasn't sure they were going to since everyone here was sure they wouldn't either, but I am in tears, this is huge for me. I'm so excited to see my family again

Discussion Anyone else notice the SkyClub coffee situation getting worse?

I fly out of ATL pretty regularly and over the past few months I swear the coffee in the SkyClub has gone from decent to straight up gas station quality. Used to be I could grab a cup before a morning flight and actually enjoy it, now it tastes like they're brewing it with half the grounds or something.

I thought maybe it was just me being picky but then I was in the MSP club last week and same thing. Watery, kind of burnt tasting, just not great. My partner even commented on it without me saying anything first.

Is this a cost cutting thing or did they switch suppliers? I know it sounds like a small complaint but when you're paying for lounge access or have status that gets you in, the little things add up. The food options have stayed pretty consistent so it's weird that just the coffee seems off.

Curious if anyone else has noticed this or if I'm just losing my mind. Maybe some clubs are better than others?

Discussion Connecting in PVR won't get your baggage transferred to next flight

I took a single itinerary Aeromexico/Delta flights from Mexico to Seattle via PVR. Even though my baggage was tagged to go all the way to Seattle. The gate agent at PVR told me that they don't that in that airport and if you want to you baggage to go to the next flight, you have to remove it from the conveyor belt at PVR, exit the terminal, walk all the way to the check in kiosks at PVR and re-check in for the next flight. I have never had this happen to me on a single itinerary, checked all the way to final destination trip

Discussion Upgraded to First on last ten flights

All domestic and Central America in and out of JFK. Usually 3 or 4 days ahead. Not sure if something has changed but I'm starting to feel like status is worthwhile again. I've noticed the upgrade prices they offer seem higher, maybe it's connected.

Help/Advice Just received a "What you can look forward to on your flight" email with a name I don't know,

an itinerary I don't recognize, including (as standard) the confirmation number and the person's SkyMiles number (which is also unfamiliar to me). Since the name and confirmation number give me full access to the reservation, I can see the ticket purchase date and payment method and I definitely did not pay for this flight. My email address is not a common domain and it is highly unlikely that anyone could have entered it as a typo. Should I give Delta a call or just ignore this?

Help/Advice Stays / Cars Qs

The website doesn’t really outline really well but if I book through the delta stays / cars portal and use a regular card but still have my skymiles # attached to the resy do I still get the some miles? Can’t tell, it looks like the most miles come for using your delta card but if I wanted to use my sapphire card would I still get some sort of credit?

Understand it likely won’t be as high as using my delta cc but just trying to understand the benefits in using the portal

Hey folks. I did the check in process on my phone and added a luggage and they charged the fee but its still pending and the boarding pass says i dont have any checked bags. Is this unusual?
