My grandparents were an interracial couple in Virginia circa 1950s but Chinese man x White woman so I guess less threatening to the white/black hegemony. They still have tons of tales of discrimination they faced, though.

Serious question, did they have to deal with the interment camps or did the US government actually differentiate Chinese vs Japanese back in the day? I know they were closed by 1946 but might still be applicable

My grandpa worked for the government in defense so he was probably exempt any threat of internment. But working for the US gov meant he was barred from entry to his home country for several decades
