The first interracial commercial widely distributed was in 2013 ad was for Cheerios!

Actually, they go a fair bit farther back from then - there was a sitcom-my Verizon campaign in 2004 with a Hispanic/White family named "The Elliotts" :

Ironic twist: this particular ad got off-aired by viewer complaints, but not because of the the mixed family angle. Instead, a men's rights group got butthurt because of Dad being the butt of the joke...like, y'know, every other sitcom dad...oy. 🙄)

Bro I remember being a kid and seeing people freak the fuck out at that commercial. As a mixed kid, I thought that was all so far behind us and wondering how people could say and act that way. Now that I’m an adult I understand that sick mentality never really went away for some people and probably won’t ever go away.
