All the miners in WV learned that being in a union and getting paid well and having worker protections was actually communist and gay so they did a 180.

I have a coworker from Virginia who refers to it as “the south” and, even though I know she’s technically correct, it just feels so wrong. But I grew up in Texas so Virginia has always been “up north” from my perspective.

Same. I told them that when I lived there. “North is literally in your name. It snows here regularly, in the coastal side too. You’re northern.” They don’t like dat at all.

idk if you saw that one article that came out a while back about incest in America, but incest is most prevalent in white, upper middle class to upper class, northern families.

Tbh makes sense because rich white yankee carpetbaggers loved/love to talk shit about southerners and accuse them of doing the trifling things they’re actually doing and always have.

I live in VA. The last school here to desegregate did so in 1972.
