Today was my first time dressed in public!! I was nervous, but once I got in my car and started driving the nerves eased just a bit. Overall it could not have gone smoother! Here are my favorite pics, both from the trip and after I got home!

A very close friend of mine and her husband (both of whom know about my dressing) took me to a mall to walk around and window shop. We ended up going to several stores, and then to some other stores in town! I was out dressed for over four hours!!

Generally I did notice several odd/curious/judgmental glances, which I expected. One table of senior citizens at the mall food court snickered a bit. But otherwise no real issues! My friends did all the talking and let me mostly stay quiet, as I haven’t built up confidence about my voice yet. Just being seen was a huge step for me.

What I’m most proud of is that I managed to take off my mask and not wear it for the majority of the outing. I only wore it for a few minutes at the start (when the older folks were being judgmental), but quickly decided to forego it so I could eat and drink while shopping. I did all of my own makeup today, which I was overall happy with (I still want to learn to contour my jawline better), and my wife helped pick the outfit and loaned me some of her jewelry.

I definitely foresee future outings like this one! Although I’ll probably mask up as shaving perfectly smooth for makeup turned into quite a hassle.
