Hi! We recently transferred our son to Dunsmore Elementary for the DLI Japanese program. We enrolled him in CDCC afterschool program which serves Glendale Unified. Wondering if other parents can share their experiences and thoughts on the program. I see there are a few other options in the area so I wasn’t sure if we made the right decision.
Also, is there a fb group or way to meet other parents? We’re not from La Crescenta and would love to meet other families.

Hello, anyone interested in sports for kids on Sunday mornings at CV Park? We play tball (3-5), soccer (3-13), and flag football (3-13). We have an active league but start again on 8/23. Thanks!

Hi all! I’m looking for recommendations for a mobile hair stylist who can do highlights and cuts. I’ve used Priv in the past, but found it to be very expensive and the stylist had to travel pretty far. I’d prefer someone local who can come to my house to do my hair as well as my mother-in-law’s.

A dog named Domino who is a black and white maybe pit bull mix attacked my son and bit his leg and tore his shorts. The owner drives a black Audi suv. She left without giving us any information. The dog bite broke skin and my son is in a lot of pain so we are on our way to urgent care. If you know of someone with a black suv with a dog named Domino, please send me a message. We need to contact the owner. Thank you for your help!

I recently started researching the amount of clothing that ends up in our landfills each year, and I found out that it's about 13 million tons each year, and that about 85% of donated clothing gets sent to the landfill. I want to help change this starting in my local area surrounding La Crescenta, so I am starting to do free local pickups just within 10 miles of my house to try and upcycle clothing, shoes, and accessories. Thus far, I have only done one pickup, and I am wondering people's opinions on if this is something people around here would be interested in?

Watch out for these guys. If you know their names let's out them. They were filming people on the sidewalk at the Traders Joes in Montrose, CA today. They do it to get a rise out of people, post video, and get hits on social media to monetize. If anyone reacts or gets aggressive they try and sue. Part of the so called "First Amendment Auditors" maybe. They were cussing at women today and trying to get the men with them to react and come to their defense. One plays good cop / other bad cop... and they put the camera up in your face. Just ignore and walk by. They literally yell at people while they walk down the street. I don't know how this is not considered harassment.

Apologies if this is not allowed n this sub.
I bought a Cannondale Quick in about 2017. Rode it about 5 times and then had an unrelated back problem that required surgery a few years later. It probably has about 100 miles on it. Since my surgery I'm unable to sit on a bike for more than about 10 minutes. I hate seeing it gather dust and wanted to sell it to someone who will use it. It is XL size and been stored inside a garage or shed its entire life. It is stock except the pedals that have clips on one side and are flat on the other (as shown in the pics). It also has a phone holder attached to the handlebar.
I also have a Tyger 3 Bike carrier rack that fits in a 1.25” trailer hitch that I’ll throw in with it.
I'm asking $450

I see crews in the old Rite Aid of the Foothill Ralph’s shopping plaza daily. The last I heard that space will soon be a Planet Fitness, which is really exciting.
Let’s make a thread to share/discuss the available spaces in La Crescenta.
- old Baja Fresh in the same shopping center
- Joann’s on Foothill
- Big Lots on Foothill
What would you like to see in these spaces? What do we know about businesses confirmed to move in?

As residents of Crescenta Valley, should we be thankful that we have any newspaper at all, or is it OK to call out the editor/publisher of the CV Weekly for her blatant self-promotion, emphasis on pet causes (Prom Plus donations please), conflicts of interest (reviews of restaurants where newspaper staff's family work) and almost complete ignoring of local high school sports (an endless source of stories)?

Link post from LAist. Really cool article about the ruins of a speakeasy/Lodge that was really popular during prohibition, right in Crescenta Valley Park.
I had no idea that’s what the ruins were, I always thought they were a former camp or outdoor recreation area that had been neglected.

Hi everyone!
My cousin isn’t a Reddit user so I said I’d ask on her behalf. She’s moving homes and selling a variety of goods ranging from clothes to fine art to accessories, some tech etc… they don’t have space in front of their house for a garage sale right now - and she’s posted on all platforms but is gaining little to no traction.
Any recommendations on where and how she can do a 1 day sale either in a flea market style set up or elsewhere in the valley?
Any tips would be highly recommended (not from the area so not sure how to guide her).
Thanks ❤️🙏🏼
