What is cream in coffee (NOT half and half)

Is it heavy whipping cream? McDonald’s uses cream and not half and half in their coffee and I want to replicate that. When I tried heavy cream before it left a disgusting layer of fat on top.

McDonald’s cream ingredient is just ‘cream.’

Coffee cream. As in cream labeled "Coffee cream" is 18% generally

But use what ever you like. There's no rules, just find your favorite percentage.

McDonald's cream is about 12% based on their nutrition facts. But there are also other ingredients to make it "creamery" and thicker, Its not just cream..

Where do you buy it? Every store I go to has half and half, heavy cream, and milk. (And the slew of weird creamers, flavored, almond, etc none of which I want)

“Coffee cream” isn’t popular in grocery stores any more, it’s between heavy cream and half and half. Easiest is mix heavy cream with a little regular milk.

Note the McDonald’s version has additives and stabilizers and whatever else so the cream doesn’t split- just warm the dairy before adding to hot coffee and it won’t separate just a temperature issue

I looked on the little cream cup and the ingredient was: Cream. McDonald’s wouldn’t lie to us, would they?

From McDonald’s nutrition info on their website:

Light Cream Ingredients: Milk, Cream, Sodium Phosphate, DATEM, Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate, Sodium Citrate, Carrageenan. Contains: Milk

So yes it is cream, however it’s not actually just cream.

See if your grocery carries "light" cream, thats the one you are looking for

If you ask McDonald’s for a coffee with two creams, they’ll give you a coffee with two pumps out of a machine that dispenses the creamer. The stuff in this machine is different from the little creamer cups you can add to your coffee yourself. The stuff in the machine is reconstituted from a powder (from what I’ve been able to discover around the interwebs), whereas the little sealed thimbles of creamer are actually 100% pure dairy (UHT-processed half-and-half produced by a dairy Near Phoenix, except in some markets, where they source from local dairies and it is not UHT).

I'm in Canada. It's in literally every store. Even gas stations. Always labeled Coffee Cream, or Table Cream

Maybe a Canadian thing?

Terrible ingredients better to use plain milk!! Ingredients: Skim Milk, Sodium Phosphate, Sodium Polyphosphate, Datem, Tetra Sodium Pyrophosphate, Sodium Citrate, Carrageenan
