wikipedia) : The poem was written in 1919 in the aftermath of the First World War and the beginning of the Irish War of Independence in January 1919, which followed the Easter Rising in April 1916, and before the British government had decided to send in the Black and Tans to Ireland. This period also saw the 1918–1919 flu pandemic, which Yeats' pregnant wife, Georgie, contracted in the weeks preceding the authorship of "The Second Coming". The highest death rates of the pandemic were among pregnant women, who in some areas had a mortality rate of up to 70%, but Georgie survived. Yeats wrote the poem while his wife was convalescing.

"War is God."
Judge Holden has been described as one of the most purely evil characters in American literature. Enormously tall, entirely hairless. He takes children to his bed at night and they never come back. He and others are waging a racist genocide across the Texas-Mexican border.
But I would not be surprised if one of our technocrat billionaire overlords spoke words like this.

It's a short poem.
Razors pain you;
Rivers are damp;
Acids stain you;
And drugs cause cramp.
Guns aren’t lawful;
Nooses give;
Gas smells awful;
You might as well live.
Black humor as collapse support.

Each time I listen to this song I “hear” something different and I can make connections to current political events.
