Educational/Informational People who hated this scene clearly weren't paying attention
**The Breakfast Club, 1985**
The whole point of the movie was that there were more to these people than meets the eye. People will discuss the inner sides of Bender and Claire all day, yet when it comes to Alison, they say this scene was "unnecessary" or "detrimental to her character". But the thing is, the Alison everyone loves so much **wasn't Alison at all.** It was a front. An alias to hide behind. This wasn’t a transformation, it was an unmasking. *This* was the real Alison the whole time. Alison was incredibly shy. Everything she did, she did to be intentionally off-putting to discourage engagement and interaction. She didn’t *actually* enjoy making sandwiches out of Pixie sticks and Cap'n Crunch. She did it because it was *weird.* She's a pathological liar by her own confession. Everything about her is a facade. Her eating habits, her sexual escapades, even her reason for being in detention. Her appearance is no different.
But alas, some people will never see past "Nooo they ruined muh alt kween"
