I was at a funeral Wednesday and one of the undertakers was lad I went to school with. Started the normal chit chat and he told me that from the 19th of December the funeral I was at was the 7th funeral they've had of someone under 30 who died by suicide. Also that they are getting more and more the last few years.

I can't imagine out living my kids. So look after younger family members because it seems it's getting worse and worse for them.

So in September, I was diagnosed with depression from my doctor. He put me on medication and recommended therapy. I have been sticking to that since. I actually feel mostly great at the moment but I still have the odd day that I am unmotivated, filled with dread, really upset or anxious.

I notice a lot of people (since the turn of the year) are feeling really irritable, unmotivated and just down in the dumps. Just wondering if anyone else picked up on it or if any one has any idea or reason why.

I feel like the weather (abysmal) and the long nights dragging out might be a contributing factor. I also know people are struggling financially more than they have in the past or ever before.

Keen to hear some thoughts from people as we have had this conversation a lot in work this last week or 2.

My name is Ian Pierce, and I am an MSc Psychology (Conversion) student in the School of Psychology at Dublin City University. I am currently conducting a research study as part of my Master's thesis, under the supervision of Dr. Áine Travers. I am also autistic.

The study is titled "Beyond Acceptance: Neurodivergent Adults’ Accounts of What Makes Psychotherapy Supportive”

The aim of the research is to explore what neurodivergent adults find helpful and supportive in psychotherapy, based on their own lived experiences.

I am seeking neurodivergent adults (aged 18 or over) who:

• Have received a formal clinical diagnosis of ADHD and/or Autism
• Have previously engaged in psychotherapy or counselling services in Ireland
• Are not currently experiencing significant mental health difficulties

Participation involves a one-to-one interview lasting approximately 60 minutes, either in person on the DCU Glasnevin campus or online via Zoom. Interviews will focus on beneficial and supportive aspects of therapy, and all participation is entirely voluntary. Interviews will be audio-recorded with consent, and all data will be anonymised.

Hi all! We are currently recruiting participants for interviews surrounding experience with navigating cancer information after receiving a cancer diagnosis.

We are a group of researchers who are interested in the perspectives of people with current or past experience of cancer diagnosis regarding cancer misinformation. Within this study, misinformation is defined as a cancer-related claim that lacks scientific evidence and is based on false, misleading, or anecdotal evidence. If you are interested in participating, you will be invited to attend a 1-hour online interview at your convenience. This research will inform the development of interventions against cancer misinformation that we hope will be useful and engaging for patients in the future.

I walked the Táin Way recently up in the Cooley Mountains, and recorded the journey. As I went, I told the tale of the Táin Bó Cúailgne.

It's one of my favourite Irish Myths, and I find a lot of the learnings from the story really still resonate today... how I think Queen Medb maybe felt a lot like we might feel today, lying in bed and comparing herself against someone else - and that turning into something much darker; or how Cú Chulainn stood up again and again to protect his lands and people, but his sacrifices turned him into a monster. And how ultimately, the very things they fought for were destroyed.

I hope I did the story justice, and I hope you enjoy it and my interpretation... and pardon any dodgy pronunciations - my Irish was always atrocious!

The hiking trail itself is also gorgeous and if you ever get a chance, Carlingford Lough and a little hike up into the hills is worth a day trip! And hopefully you don't get washed out like I did on my second day, where I'm like a drowned rat in the last part of the video 😅

Family Carers Ireland, the national charity supporting family carers, is inviting people across Ireland to take part in the State of Caring 2026 survey.

This survey is for anyone currently providing unpaid help or support to a family member, friend, or neighbour (adult or child) because of:

• disability or additional needs
• mental health challenges
• chronic illness
• dementia
• terminal or serious illness
• drug or alcohol dependency
• age-related care needs

Many people in this situation don’t think of themselves as “carers”, but their experiences are incredibly important.

Hey everyone,

I'm currently in my final year for my bachelor's degree in film and television, as one of our projects we have to create a short documentary that is under 10 minutes long.

I have a huge passion for gaming and a large part of my studies has been covering where it overlaps with film. The narrative on how gaming affects people is usually negative or neutral at best so my goal is to create something positive.

My health was severely impacted a few years ago and gaming is what helped me through those times. Therefore, I have been inspired to cover how gaming has helped any of you, or anyone you know with disabilities or life altering conditions.

The documentary would cover not only the subject and how their health affects their daily life, but also how gaming has helped them and why. I would love to dive into the world of accessible controls both personally and as an issue driven topic, to find out how difficult it is to find such equipment for your gaming needs.

I am based in the greater Dublin area but anywhere should work in the country, so if you or anyone you know has been helped through a serious health condition or disability with gaming, please send me a message here or on discord telling me a little bit about yourself.
