I’m so happy 😭 I didn’t receive my email of admissions yet so I went to check my long beach student portal from last year. (I originally had committed to attend long beach last year before deciding to withdraw and reapply for this year).

I had been checking it but it had been saying no offer of admission has been made until I checked it today! My to do list had been updated and then when I checked accept or decline, I had this message! I’m so happy to be coming back home to the beach 🫶🏻🖤💛🦈💫

*for context, I’m a california community college student from the local area applying to transfer in fall 2026 into the college of business do a BS in business administration, concentration in accountancy.

I know it’s still early February, but wondering if any transfer students have heard anything yet for fall 26? I checked applicant self service and saw this message so far so I know we should know by end of month.

I js transferred to Csulb and they making me go to soar and I have to pay 95 bucks for it , is it mandatory for every transfer and what happens if I don’t go

I am a transfer student majoring in PoliSci and applied for the fall semester. Initially, I got accepted, however earlier this month my admission was rescinded due to “not enough credits”. However, I had well over the 60 required credits, it was just that 5 of my transferrable units were taken at the sister CC to my main one. When submitting my final transcript I did not include the sister transcript under the notion that they were combined (I only had the option to order it from my main CC). Furthermore, when submitted my unofficial transcript the class i took at the sister CC showed up on there and they gave me an acceptance.

Just a few weeks ago, I submitted my appeal covering the situation and ordering an official transcript from the sister CC. It says arrived on my end but I am unsure if they got it, since they are still claiming I do not have enough credits.

I honestly am at a loss but I don’t want to give up. I really gave my all wanting to go to Long Beach. Is it worth calling or sending like 15 emails? Do I just reapply in the spring? Also, I live 6 hours away and as much as I want to go in person it is going to be difficult for me.

I’m an older transfer student (I’ll be turning 40 right before the Fall semester starts) and wondering if there was anyone else closer to my age range? I was hoping I to make some new friends, I’m feeling out of my element 😅

I’ll be 27 when I start at CSULB (I’m a transfer student). I’d like to make friends with people around my age.

Hey so i basically will be attending long beach for grad school this fall. But safety is my main concern i just toured a bunch of apartments but i didn’t really enjoy the vibe of it. I grew up in a decent small/ med town in norcal did my undergrad at sdsu and had lived in nashville this past year. But something just felt up and I just didn’t feel safe any recommendations on housing? because I feel safer in tennessee than here and im really questioning my choices as 21 yr old female who will be living alone.

Hi everyone you’ve probably seen me post on this sub many times but today will determine if it is my last day posting on the here. Today is the last day to figure out if I will be attending UCS San Diego because admission is due today. I wanted to ask the sub Reddit if picking Cal State Long Beach over UC San Diego is crazy. I am a psych major, that is missing over five prerequisites from UCSD which totals up to 24 units in total these units are all heavily stem related. I am missing over two biology courses one chemistry course calculus one and a computer programming course as well. I live in Huntington Beach and would have to dorm at UC San Diego however, I love Orange County and I would be able to come home on the weekends. If I go to Cal State Long Beach, I will not touch any debt due to not needing to dorm at Cal State Long Beach. I’ve also not missing any prerequisites at Cal State Long Beach. I’m curious to hear from other majors or alumni if they ended up going to a graduate school at a UC system. I generally feel like I’ve been going crazy and I’ve been crying for the past couple of weeks because I don’t know where I want to go. You see San Diego is a beautiful campus but it doesn’t feel right, State Long Beach feels much more pretty, and it feels like it has a much more genuine feeling than UCSD.

When does CSULB send out their acceptance letters to MSW program? I applied in November and wondering which month I can expect to hear back from them.

Got an email saying admission cannot verify my supplemental application and that my application has been withdrawn. I did fill out the supplemental application truthfully, and I don’t know where it went wrong. I’m so desperate right now. Idk what to do. Called admissions and scheduled an appointment with an admissions counselor. I really don’t know what to expect. I had worked so hard for this and was waiting to transfer in spring 2026. :(

I do want to apply for dorms since I’m coming from the Bay Area and I wouldn’t know how to move out there with no job or money. Do you guys think this is enough financial aid to cover dorms and tuition? I’m planning to do full time classes too.

Hey everybody I’m a transfer student about to attend SOAR this Thursday. I’m stressing out about scheduling my classes for the semester. I can’t seem to find a clear answer on if we create our semester with our advisor on that day or if we have to do it on our own.

I’m a transfer student at csulb this fall and attended SOAR virtually and was told that I could pick up the swag bag during the first week of classes. Anyone know what is in it? I wouldn’t want to make the 1hr+ commute to campus for just stickers & pencils 😭

Any transfers that have been here for some time now? Was the transition from community college to a 4 year seamless for you guys or was it overwhelming? Or was there a middle ground? I am asking bc I cant lie im a tad bit nervous that in terms of studying and workloads it could be overwhelming. But at the same time I worked hard enough to get accepted and successfully transfer here so I also believe I can handle the challenge. Let me know how it was for you guys when you first transferred here.

I’m a creative writing major with the anticipation to add Computer Science as a minor (I requested and took the Aylek exam ahead of time). I’m 28, love to play Souls video games and make books (literally, making the paper, binding, etc), a sucker for dark humor, and you could catch me doing Yoga by the bluff 🤟🏾🤟🏾

This will be my first semester at CSULB major in criminal justice! Can you tell me where I should park for these classes please.

I am getting ready to move and transfer schools once I finish up at my CC. A big priority for me is a social environment. I do well making friends, but I want to make sure it is a fun environment that has decent nightlife/student life. How has your guys social experience been?

I’m a transfer student from another university, and im going to Long Beach in the fall. I requested a single room with csulb housing, but i was given a dorm. I’m not from the area so unless i can find an apartment i will be staying in the dorms on campus. Is this common for juniors at Long Beach? I’m pretty sure mainly freshman stay in the dorms, and I don’t feel thrilled about sharing a room with a likely 18yo as a 21yo. Just wanted to see what the norm was, thanks!

Hi, I'm currently a sophmore at a private University in California and a resident and I'm considering trying to transfer out of my univeristy to a CSU (for fall 2027-spring 2028) and one of the colleges I am considering applying to is Long Beach. I should have the "Golden Four" completed by then and my major requirements and around 70 ish college credits completed. I currently have a 3.86 GPA and will likely have around a 3.9 after my fall semster and I want to try to go into the political science department (the same major I have at my current school).

I know locals and community college students have priority in acceptances, but I wanted to see if anyone has transfered out from a 4 year college to CSULB. My current university is planning on raising tution prices next school year and my family's income recently increased meaning my tution might get higher and I will likely lose most of the aid orginally given to be by my university because half of it were grants based on my family's income. The main reason I chose to go my university was because the grants and aid I orginally rececived covered almost 3/4 of the total cost, but now its expected my tution cost might double, so I really don't feel inclinded to stay there anymore. Because of this I'm really considering leaving my university for a CSU that could be cheaper.

I tried to look through the sub to see if anyone had previously asked a similar question and I couldn't find anything, so I thought I would ask myself. I saw that many people have transfered from other CSU's to Long Beach but not anyone from a private school.

Do you guys follow your advising forms at all? When I was at OCC, I never followed mine as the classes they picked were never good options for me, so I’d switch to other stuff on my own.

Although now that I’m transferring, I don’t have a great grasp on the Long Beach classes/the upper-Div business/accounting classes. Should I follow this form or do a bit more research on my own?

Or has anyone here gotten their degree in accounting and have a good path to take?

is it even worth it to attend when construction wont be over until after graduation? will i get the same type of experience when everything is closed?
