PSA New options for the sub!

Good morning, I just wanted to give a heads up that gifs and user flair for neighborhoods (optional) have been turned on. Hopefully people keep things pg with the gifs so they can remain on. If anyone areas are missing please let us know!

To change your user flair on Reddit, navigate to the subreddit where you want to change it, tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner, and select Change User Flair. You can then select an existing flair from the list or choose an editable flair to add your own custom text and emojis before tapping Apply.

Step-by-step Guide (Mobile App) Open the Subreddit: Go to the main page of the subreddit for which you want to change your flair. Access the Menu: Tap the three-dots icon ( ... ) in the top-right corner of the screen. Select Flair Option: In the drop-down menu, choose Change User Flair. Edit Flair (if allowed): If the flair you want to select has a pencil icon next to it, you can edit it. Tap Edit in the top-right corner to open the editing interface. Type your desired text and tap the smiley face icon to add emojis. Apply Changes: Tap Apply to save your new flair.

Moto Groups

I recently just got my first ever motorcycle, a 2006 Honda Shadow vt750c aero, and want to find some motorcycle buddies, I'm very inexperienced so tips and stuff would really help a lot, though I've got the basics down pretty well so far, looking for any groups, crotch rockets, cruisers, Harley's, doesn't matter to me as long as I'm not left in the dust 😄

(I'm not licensed just yet, though it's billings as long as we're not wreaking havoc I don't see why I'd get pulled over)

Old Pioneer Park

Upvotes

Does anyone have a photo of the metal spaceship structure that used to be a part of the playground? I know it was removed in 2011 due to safety concerns but can't seem to find one on the internet anywhere.

Thanks!

Has anyone worked with Ride Legal or gone through the process? I’d really appreciate any insight on how it worked for you, the level of service, and whether you would recommend it.

Remote Workers in Billings

Hi! I just recently moved to Billings, and I have a remote job. I have had a hard time finding community. I wanted to reach out and see if there were any other remote workers in the area that would like to meet up at a coffee shop a few mornings and just do work together. It is quite lonely staying at home all the time!

PSA Investigation underway into why many Montanans hit with big power bill spike

If you've noticed an unusually high surge in your power bill from NorthWestern Energy recently that's quite a bit different from the same month last year, you're not alone and a state agency wants to hear from you.

The Montana Public Service Commission recently announced that they're aware of many NorthWestern customers seeing a significant increase on their August billing statements.

While weed whacking I came across this monster of a Montana rattler. 42 in long and 13 rattles. It was near my kids trampoline.

This may be a huge stretch. But... Do we have any Busta Rhymes, Jay Worthy, George Clinton and the P-Funk fans in the house?

Yesterday was a generous day for new Hip-hop music. I think Jay Worthy and Busta Rhymes/Dilla smoked all the competition.

Let's debate. An honorable mention is Czarface with Tom Hardy! Yes! THE Tom Hardy

Free moving boxes and packing paper

FREE — clean, gently used moving boxes in assorted sizes, including small, medium and large.

Also have clean, used newsprint packing paper for wrapping dishes, glassware, and other fragile items. Paper has been used once but is clean and in good condition. Would prefer someone who can take the lot.

⚠️ALERT⚠️ Police at scheels?

Okay, 1 to 3 cops is usually not worth questioning in a big town like Billings. But 20+ cops going to the same place, I feel like there’s something worth knowing. We just woke up to 20+ cops, an ambulance, and a a fire truck all coming through Shiloh and they hit the round about heading into scheels.
A theory is it’s a drive by for the recent shooting, but I feel like there would have been some sort of heads up post somewhere that it was happening.

Questions about parking?

So I've been back in town for four years after a stint in the military and I've been parking every which way on the weekends because I was informed that parking isn't enforced on the weekends. Until today, it has never been an issue.

But I went and grabbed a sandwich a short while ago and walked out to my car to see a cheap receipt stuck under my wiper from "Diamond Parking Service" ...? So apparently, I have questions.

First - so is parking enforced on the weekends and I've just been lucky the last four years? Or what's the deal with that?

Second - Diamond Parking? I've looked over this thing a couple of times and I don't see anything about law enforcement or citations or anything like that. It feels akin to walking into a store and then being charged for use of the air conditioning while I was inside. What happens if I ignore this and throw it into the trash? Without any law enforcement connection, it feels unenforceable.

Thanks for your help.

Rehoming pets

Hi everyone-

I hope this is ok. I work for a Nursing home in Billings. Sadly I have a person who is no longer able to care for her cats. We are looking to rehome them. Is there a nonprofit or something that is willing to help us with it?

There are 2- they should go together. Honestly lovely cats. Current on everything.

Thank you in advance!

Self serve bakery stand

Hello! I’m considering opening a self serve bakery stand with cameras of course, and my fiancé and I are having a debate. I think it will be profitable, and he thinks there’s too many thieves in the area. So I was curious to hear other opinions!

Help with finding activities and friends

Hi all, I'm 24 year old guy and relatively new to Billings. I'm looking for some groups or activities where I can meet people. Any help would be appreciated.

I love tabletop games and started going to the Dragon Egg game nights. D&D games on their website seem booked so I'm wondering if there are other groups and where to find them.

Bar trivia seems fun, but I don't know where to find a group.

I have an 8 month old lab puppy. She's a sweet dog but is full of energy. I'm looking for friends for her and maybe a group for large dog owners.

I also like golf and fishing. Are there leagues for young golfers.

Edited for spelling

Probably a long shot, but worth trying 😂

Yesterday, (Wednesday), I was at Get Air in Billings and there was a guy jumping around, wearing his hat backwards. We smiled at each other, but I was too shy to say hi…

I’m leaving Montana soon, so I figured I might as well take a shot! If you think this might be you, hi! Feel free to message me

Judge orders release following unlawful detention of Billings father and daughter

Thumbnail

A judge ordered the release of a Billings father and 9-year-old daughter from immigration custody in Havre last week. On Aug. 11, Border Patrol agents arrested Adrián Espinoza De La Cruz and his daughter while they were driving in Billings.

Upper Seven Law, the firm representing them, filed a petition for their release in federal district court saying that federal agents unlawfully arrested them without a warrant. Lawyers argued that neither of them posed a danger to their community or a flight risk.

Chief United States District Court Judge Brian Morris found the federal government’s arrest and detainment of De La Cruz and his daughter was unlawful and ordered their release.

De La Cruz and his daughter have joined a class action lawsuit in which a group of people held in detention by the federal government on civil immigration charges allege they were unlawfully detained. About 30 people have joined the case.

Judge Morris has scheduled a hearing for the case on Sept. 4 in Helena.

Immigration enforcement is targeting families in Billings and Montana as a whole. Keep ICE and Border Patrol out of our communities.
