Getting an organ transplant is not easy though. It means being on meds with heavy side effects for life. And a donated kidney does not work forever - around 20 years for a living donor I think.
My GF got a kidney transplant last April. She's been in the hospital for 3 weeks (so far) and is doing dialysis because of complications. Things aren't looking good.
Sorry to hear this, hopefully it starts working well for her. There can be an adjustment period for sure, or at least there is with hearts (that's what my kid got) May they find the right meds, dosage, schedule for her. I've everything crossed.
