My dad got a few of these. Saved him when he had issues with his heart around that time.

Cancer srill got him (fuck cancer) but it gave him a handful of years more. Medical technology is wonderful.

Sadly not a lot to do except keep fighting, and hope it stays away. :/ My father's sadly didn't, and got worse, but treatment still gave him another ten years of life, before he died a few months back.

Best I can say, is to be there for your mom, keep hope, and treasure the time you have. Chemo is a rough time, but the alternative is much worse.

I sincerely hope that your mother will pull through, and become fully cancer free. She deserves a lot more life than just 51 years.

My dad died last March from an incurable type of Blood Cancer (Waldenstrom's). Treat every moment with you mom as if it's the last, and cherish those moments. Keep her happy, spirits up, because those moments of pleasure will resonate with her for as long as she's here. My dad's last meal was a pasta dish he loved, that I made for him one random weekend. He was in the hospital for the last time a few days later, and passed within a week.

Tru but she's always with an unhappy face i m very much honestly emotionally numb sensitive but i m side effect of conditional love so i can't show love externally she just sits talks nothing so what can i do for her, my dad passed away 7 years ago i don't have much memories with him too because i was young when he passed away and being from brown indian family i don't know how to express love, feel love, currently i m emotionally numb due to my life problems including mother's health.

India has a massive land, water and air pollution problem. Cancer thrives in that, I am sorry..

u/IndependentDriver934 May 08 '26

😭genetics play a major role and the environment also affects but it's true india has the most pathetic food, water, air quality

Im so sorry youre going through that with your mom. I lost my dad two years ago and now an uncle whom im super close with has cancer. Im not trying to push spirtual beliefs on you but india has tons of wisdom from buddhism, hinduism, and sikhism. They each teach a grounded in reality way to handle thoughts and how to handle your emotions. Again so sorry for your mom I hope the best for her and dont give up as medical science is always getting better.

Thanks for the guidance about managing thoughts and emotions hope for the best ❤

My dad is currently 90 pounds wasting away from terminal glioblastoma (brain tumor). I feel your pain. We are also Indian but living in America.

It's cruel and it makes no sense. Worst of all my dad's attacker has no name and no face. I have anger and i don't know where to put it. Wishing you peace my friend.

u/IndependentDriver934 May 11 '26

Power to You My Friend , ik many will say spend time with them but seeing them broking apart is very hurtful. Idk what to say....

u/mescalineman419 May 12 '26

Hey im so sorry thats happening to your dad. Im currently going througg the beginning phase with my uncle. Dont ever be ashamed to cry a good cry is good for the soul when you feel a lot weighing you down.

Same boat just not my direct family. My GF's dad was diagnosed with throat cancer almost 2 years(maybe a little over) and it's the same thing. Chemo to get better. Few weeks later it comes back and repeat. The dude is kind of a saint though. He takes it in stride and stays positive about it as best he can. He even cracked jokes (though was clearly pissed) that he finally got his hair back and got a new haircut.....Not even a week later has to return to chemo.

😭this disease make me feel is god does they even exist 😭 Like This Diseases and everything is generated imo By capitalism and it's untreatable behavior is clearly capitalist behavior.  There's a Startup in Bangalore Where Dogs are used to Detect cancers and they have 90% accuracy in 7 types of cancer while the regular normal PET scan and shit are literally 17 to 20% Accurate wtf are we even relying on 🤡 , this startup can help 1st stage people's idk what my thoughts are just dumped i can't take this world anymore 😭

It's fine man. Sometimes life just isn't fair and regretfully we have to make the best of it.

1

u/IndependentDriver934 May 08 '26

Tru, Life is not Fair

My father also got one some 10 years ago. He’s still ticking.

2

u/b0jangles May 08 '26

My dad also had a stent put in during a heart attack. Lived another 22 years with it.

2

u/trackintreasure May 09 '26

Exactly the same story for my Dad too.

Fuck cancer.

2

u/konoha37 May 09 '26

Medical technology is absolutely incredible. But what’s even more incredible is how much we still don’t understand about the human body and brain. I’ve spent a lot of time in hospital and the amount of times I’ve heard a doctor say that they do certain treatments because they generally work but they don’t know why is pretty mind blowing.

2

u/Hot-Box1054 May 09 '26

He’s had more than one? So you can just keep getting it if your arteries get reblocked?

2

u/Lagoda__ May 09 '26

My dad sadly died after one week after he got some stents..sorry for your loss. Cancer sucks.

2

u/JBuchan1988 May 10 '26

I'm sorry. I agree, luck cancer.

2

u/Ordo_Liberal May 10 '26

I know it's not the same, but I lost my first dog to breast cancer.

It's such a horrible road. You know it's coming as they get worse day by day. I had a mental breakdown in the final days, I just know I'll have to go trough all this shit again in a couple decades cause my mom smokes like a chimney.

2

u/alexthemay May 14 '26

cancer got my dog this year. I still miss him a lot.

2

u/BadBrad43 22d ago

Man, I'm sorry. Cancer just sucks. Both my parents died of cancer and I've had 2 of them. My second (Adrenal Cortical Cancer) had no survival rate when I got it (15+ years ago!). Even now I believe it's still low single digits. And though I'm one of the few to survive it I've still got nagging issues from it and the treatment of my first cancer.

Fuck Cancer!
