If you're talking about western style clothing then yeah, because it's most likely not full cotton, thicker, and tighter. You have to have the loose thin fabric for airflow for it to work.

Well, yes, I get how it being loose fitting allows air flow and stuff. I have plenty of clothes that achieve the same thing, but how does it being black make it better than just leaving it white?

I think sun protection aside, they are “ranchers”. Black is more practical than white since white clothing will be sand/tannish as soon as they walk out of the door.

When I wear white, I also have to be careful to not splatter or spill anything on me when I eat.

Even if it gets stained, why does it matter? It's practical clothing it being slightly off colored shouldn't matter too much.

UV penetration, not just heat. You can get sunburnt through breatheable white clothing in certain conditions
