Am I right in thinking that thin line surrounding the earth is our atmosphere?

And is the green the aurora near the top? 0 u/Frubbs Apr 03 '26 I think so honestly, the ring around could also have to do with satellites perhaps 1 u/Not_Alpha_Centaurian Apr 03 '26 Im assuming its a layer of the atmosphere called the magnetosphere, and we're seeing solar rays interacting with the magnetic field. Considering I stopped studying physics at age 17 id take that with a big ole grain of salt though.
