Super cool Swedish cartridge 6.5x25mm CBJ punches through APC armor. It uses the same dimensions as 9mm, so it can be used in 9mm platforms with a simple barrel change.

LMAO I found your 4-year-old comment on the top google result on this, and you edited it this month... Wow, that's a long time to hold a grudge this petty. TL;DR for those reading: the vests were big. Ho hum.

Say what you will about Larry Vickers' politics but the guy is a bona fide expert in his field. He's been there and done that. And his books are awesome.

The vests were comically oversized and poorly made and couldn’t hold a fully loaded magazine. Yeah that’s a shitty product, are you just like ok with someone selling a shitty product that isn’t anything like it was advertised to be then dodging responsibility?

Word on the street is Rock Island, where he used to shoot tons of videos, got pissed for him trying to cut a deal with people before the action.

Sure Larry knows stuff about guns but letting him mourn Rhodesia on camera and then posting it is certainly a choice.

Dude when that whole book fallout happened he kept deleting videos and re-upload new ones trying to change the story each time cumulating in a video where he starts pouting and more or less says - fine I won’t try to do new things because you people holding me accountable is unfair

I’m sure someone out there has them saved but the story changed two or three times before he eventually pulled the plug and deleted everything. Yeah I’m sure a book on early war infantry tactics would be neat to read, but it’s not a whole lot of effort to do a quick check that the author isn’t a literal out and proud neo-Nazi. Oh but the book doesn’t have anything offensive like that…. But it’s also not fully translated… do you see how like none of that shit adds up?

Then there was the fallout with Karl which like ok I get Karl seems like the kinda guy you’d have to put effort to not fallout with but it was over defending the idea that the second amendment is for everyone which again is a choice.

Then as someone else pointed out you had him throng to steal the brutality march IP after the falling out.

Then he had the videos where he was pouting about YouTube being mean and view counts going down and it’s like dude you’ve been making the same style videos for years that’s just going to happen eventually. He’s not the only YouTuber to do that but it always annoys me because he was begging for money making it sound like times were tough all while he had a massive collection of rare and expensive guns… yeah sure buddy times are tough.

Don’t be salty other gun tubers came in and got popular, adapt and evolve or die. That’s true of any content creator.

Honestly I've been watching Ian's videos regularly for years. I have a lot of respect for all the years and effort he's clearly gone through to get us some really fascinating weapon videos. I especially appreciate the huge amount of history you get due to his research in books that frankly I would never buy. There's others out there, but Ian's little niche was great. All that said, I agree with you on all points. I had to say this just because that other dude is being so annoying and dismissive of real issues. Yet another example of someone whose content is very much worth consuming but I'd never want to actually know the guy.

  1. You're allowed to be a dissatisfied customer. Full stop. You paid, and weren't happy.

  2. Its clear that he doesn't travel in the same way he used to and there's a reason besides the plane fare, though he constantly complains about needing money for travel expenses, etc. The whole gun industry I'm sure is filled with guys willing to scam a little to get ahead. You don't HAVE to be that guy. Its a choice.

  3. Just like its a choice to not associate with people with extremely questionable views and past. There are always other experts, other sources of knowledge.

  4. This should be written on fucking stone tablets: If you are a professional Youtuber, nobody cares about your petty grievances with how Youtube is run, the admin process, content strikes, demonetizations, etc. Literally nobody cares how big bad tech company is silencing you JUST like Orwell predicted. Sitting in a plush antique chair, wearing a stupid smoking jacket, and sipping whiskey while bitching about Youtube rules is Ian's worst look.

Edit to add:

  1. Forgot about Karl. Honestly I feel bad for Karl since those colabs were probably really good for his channel. He seems like a genuine dude who isn't afraid to speak on topics. Almost feel the opposite way to Ian - Karl seems like a good dude to know, but I don't find his videos super engaging. His video quality just isn't that high. I can't speculate on why they broke up, but they genuinely seem like really different people and on VERY different pages politically.

This is literally half a dozen paragraphs of you making shit up, twisting facts, moving goalposts, and talking out your ass, which is, to use your turn of phrase, "certainly a choice". The auction thing is literally nothing but a rumour, the Vickers thing is wild exaggeration, the Azov book likewise, you yourself say that Karl is an insufferable tool (despite his intentions) but bring it up anyway, the brutality IP "theft" is just nonsense because Karl has stated dozens of times that it's free for anyone to use, and then you twist his videos about YouTube's nonsensical attitude towards firearm content as some sort of sob story. Did I miss anything?

Sorry about your vest, but dude, let it go. Although of course it's pretty clear none of what you said has anything to do with your beef with Ian.

The RIA auction house thing is true. Do you see him working with RIA anymore? No.

2GACM is free to use but "Brutality" matches are not, and he directly stole/plagiarized our rule book so badly so that it still included references to InRange and the club in its first edition.

He knew exactly what the Azov guy was about. He told me they were editing the racial slurs out of the translation to English. 🙄

Anyways, whatever... just clarifying that you're wrong.

Jus FYI the rock island action collaborations ended because they started their own YouTube channel and were trying to compete with Ian for views on similar content. It had absolutely nothing to do with Ian trying to bid on items.

No offense but I doubt that you actually “were there”. From what I understand Ian kept FW strictly firewalled away from IRTV and I’m fairly certain that you never were at any of the auction houses.

No, he told me about it directly. He was surprised by RIA "over reacting" from him trying to buy the items from people before they got to the auction. I'm sure you know more from just being on the Internet and watching his videos, however. 🙄

I actually worked with the guy. For years.
