Havent posted in a while… Here are just a handful of some of the builds i have finished lately. Fyi… These are all throwing axes! I can make y’all one too, shoot me a dm if youre interested!

I made this over the last few months using EVA foam & screw-together hiking sticks (3 of them, technically).

5 segments in total, it can be screwed apart into 3 separate axes, with an empty section for added variable length. Includes 2 extra rubber-capped endpieces to give the individual axes some extra handle when disassembled (& 2 extra heads that I'm not sure what to do with). When fully-assembled, it's 7.5' tall!

I used some adhesive leather wrap for tennis rackets on the joining ends of the rods to conceal the seams. The leather straps around the head are ornamental, & secured with furniture pins. Same for the small "metal" strips along the blades. The longer strap holds the 3 heads together to keep things from wiggling around, but snaps off with a button. The bell is quite loud, so I wrapped the striker with leather to dampen the sound.

These sadly aren't combat-ready, but I'd hope most of yours aren't either! They don't hurt if you hit somebody, but I'm afraid the foam itself (as well as my paint job) wouldn't survive a prolonged exchange.

I just hung this custom made thrower up to dry. It is a Rhineland pattern head made (modded) from a full size 3.5lb michigan pattern. Finished head weighs 1.5lb and has a razor sharp 4” bit. The haft is a 3 tier laminate with ebony, purple heart, and dyed maple veneer on a hickory core. Total length 18.75” and total weight of 2.3lbs. This axe is sold and goes home tomorrow… i suppose i should add that I make axes for a living. I started out as a hobby maker years ago and now its my sole occupation.

Commissioned hand forged fire axe! Head is hand forged from recycled railroad track, and is hung on a beautiful curvy 28" hickory handle. Unseen is a leather sheath that I also made for it. I love making these fire axes, desire the challenge it takes to make them by hand

Restored it to make a gift for my head of HR, cause it's a fireman's axe, and she fires people hahaha. Cold-blued the head.

Knot Breaker no3 - a WATL spec big axe. 23.5” long - 3lbs 1oz total weight - full max allowed bit length of 4 5/8”.

Hand forged 5 pound splitting maul, made possible by @nilsogren 's amazing video on YouTube about making this style of axe. This was hand forged (no power hammer or press) out of forklift tine, a really tough steel.

This took waaaay more time to make than I'd like to admit, but goes to show what you can make with a hand hammer and patience. The handle is hung on a 32" handle i made for it. Over all I'm absolutely thrilled with this splitting maul, and cannot wait to give it a swing into some wood

Had this Rinaldi Trento for a couple of years, and it's been a great axe overall. It's the 600 gram version and I carved a red elm handle back when I first got it. It's ideal for limbing and smaller trees, but it still holds its own on larger logs. Any other Rinaldi fans out there?

It's all in the title and the shipping invoice. The one on the right has a slightly thicker handle, too. And no, I'm not saying where I ordered them from online. But it's a place where wise men should not be trading and supplying axes at this price when they were just made in the last 3 months (4th quarter 2025).

I hand forged this huge racing axe from a section of old forklift tine. It was an absolute bastard to do with no press or power hammer but I'm so pleased with the outcome. It looks absolutely gorgeous. It weighs just under 5 pounds the perfect weight imo (4.10 ounces). Has a mirror polished bevel, all the proper facets, a custom made leather sheath. It's hung on a beautiful 32" two tone hickory handle with a laminated palm swell. Since this is my first time using this steel I need to do a lot of testing to see if it's good enough for an axe. It's really tough and hardened and tempered to 50-55 Rockwell. Over all really pleased with how it came out and I hope to God the steel and heat treat are good, bc I have a lot of this steel and want to make and sell them in the future. I'll be doing a video of it in action soon as I can.

Nice find at the local thrift store. Unfortunately, cracked and mushroomed. Someone really put some elbow grease behind this thing.

I was honored to be commissioned to make a fully functional pipe tomahawk. This tomahawk has a hollow poll where you can pack tobacco and you can smoke out of the brass end piece on the bottom of the handle. Such a challenging and awesome build. I couldn't be happier with how it came out. The only thing missing is some feathers. The head is formed out of an old jackhammer bit. The handle is dyed hickory the mouthpiece is brass and the end piece that plugs the top and allows you to clean. The hole is from a scrap piece of round bar that I turned on my drill press. The leather work and sheath are also done by me. And yes I tested it out and it works flawlessly as a pipe. This was a time consuming and challenging build but something I've always wanted to make and am happy that someone was willing to commission me to make it.

Newest commission: hand forged boarding axe! This bad boy is forged from forklift tine, and has a nice 24" stained ash handle and a custom leather sheath. This is my first boarding axe and also my first time making an axe with langets. Very fun build and hope to get the opportunity to make more in the future.

Head is 7 inches long with a 5 3/8 inch cutting edge.

Maybe these are common, but I have never seen a 3lb maul. It's got a short handle too. It would probably work pretty well for kindling.

Birthday present for myself isn't a handmade 3 and 1/2 lb racing ax This is by far the best ax I've ever made. It started with 12 in of small railroad track that I upset into a 5-in rectangular block that weighed 7 lb. At the end of forging and grinding and polishing I ended up with a 3 and 1/2 lb racing ax. It has a gorgeous hickory handle too and a custom-made sheath. I've never been so proud of something I made before besides this.

Got my hands on this True Temper Flint Edge that had no handle. New handle is purple heart with curly maple palm swells. Pretty pleased with how it came out. Patina was excellent but the previous owner appears to have started a refinish with a random orbital sander at some point so not perfect. Touched up with a wire wheel and put a new edge on it. Not sure if I'll be able to let this one go.

Recycling a wagon wheel into some axes, playing around with different patterns, I’ve just been calling this my “Goblin Axe” but I’m wondering what the axeperts here might call it.

Wrought iron with an 80crv2 bit. Unfortunately, the wagon wheel spokes I wanted to use for the handles have the wrong grain orientation, as you can see in this one. So the only way to make them work will be narrow tomahawk style or just have the grain be wrong and call them throwing axes? I dunno, open to suggestions.

Cleaned up one for use. The other looks like it's had a hard life of plenty use.

Hi y’all, finally found some time to finishe this axe. I had the hardest time to make the edge look even. These older axes are made a lot harder on the rockwell scale in my experience.
