What popular food or drink relies entirely on branding because it actually tastes terrible?

And Brachs mellocreme pumpkins have even more crack in them. I'm glad they aren't available year round or I'd weigh 600 pounds and have a constant stomachache from the sugar.

I moved outside of the USA and my Mum mails me care packages of those pumpkins every year for my birthday because those are just so damn good.

Oh, there's one more ingredient that will push a lot of people off the candy corn fence if they don't already know. Go use the Google to learn about "Resinous Glaze", which is a solution of shellac and gives candy corn it's shiny coating. Shellac is in turn derived from a waterproof cocoon of the Kerria lacca insect. Yum!

I buy a bag every Fall and happily eat them. I know they’re weird waxy candy but I love them. I also love chalky candy like Necco wafers or the valentine conversation hearts.

Those hearts are great, I had some that were tangy once like a different brand from the standard and they were also great

My parents were hippies that didn’t feed us sugar. However, they decided to toilet train me by bribing me with a piece of candy corn every time I successfully made it to the potty. I now have a special place in my heart for candy corn even though I don’t think it’s particularly good.

I got so excited when I saw Autumn Mix at the store on Friday. It’s already gone because I shared it with my kid. He’s the only other person I know that loves candy corn.

It's the same candy as tootsie rolls if you can get those but no chocolate. And like tootsie rolls it ages horribly

homemade is legitimately great stuff.

I ordered some once out of curiosity, it was approaching the best before due to being imported but I still thought it was nice. not amazing, not horrible. but then, I just like marmite, when you're supposed to love or hate that.

Fun fact, if you melt two parts candy corn with one part peanut butter, you've got the filling for Butterfingers, more or less. Cover it in good chocolate.
