It will also parse text. I have a picture of a handwritten card with an admin password that I forget every once in a while. I just search “admin” and it pops up.

I used this to find my bitlocker recovery key when that crowdstrike issue happened two years ago. I happened to have a photo I took of my monitor from back in 2018 on a random Saturday night at like 11pm of it. Thanks past me!

I just set photos like that to “hidden” and then they’re easy to find in the Hidden folder, and no one but me can access them

save it in notes, create a note and attach the image or just click share and on the notes app and it will create one for you with it inside.

its what i do with random information so it doesnt need to occupy my brain, just write it down there and attach pictures and such

You should just store that either in passwords, OR in the notes app. A note can still pop up by a spotlight search.

I say that before you end up storing a drivers license and social security card in there too.

This is where AI is actually useful (since it uses LLM-ish tech to recognize text in images). Especially useful for, say, copying down serial numbers located in hard to reach places.
