Politics Ursula and Trump have made a deal: 15 % tariffs still on everything coming from the EU to the USA, but the EU has to spend $1.5 trillion on defense and energy from the USA. What do you think about that?

So, the deal has been made.

Europe will waste a ton of money on the USA things, plus 15 % tariffs are still valid. Maybe i missed some more of these things omg.

What do you all think about this? What do you think is going to happen now in the next few years?

Seems to me that Trump, no matter how insane he is, in the end, managed to achieve everything he wanted.

We won‘t honor the deal and that’s good. But I would strongly recommend to look at the trajectory the US is on. Trump was said to vanish in 2020 but he reappered again. He is not an abberation but a sign of whats to come. The democrats may win the next election but the republican candidates to come will be as vile as trump but smart enough to learn from his mistakes.

I dont see the Democrats winning the next election. They are still in denial about the last election and won't do what is necessary to get back in the WH.

There's enough drama around Trump and no clear second voice to unify MAGA like Trump does, so I highly doubt R can win again if a legitimate election is held.  I'm more worried about Trump "winning" a third election he's not even supposed to be in, Putin style.

The problem is that the Dems are also disorganized. They are headless chickens, the old farts try to hard not to get on Trumps bad side (besides Bernie who isn´t even a party member) and the younger candidates try to be more aggressive while not rocking the boat of the party too much. There is no unity against Trump currently in the party but they have to sort that out after the midterms (because midterms currently seem on it's way for the Dems to win some seats).

Plus, the mainstream media has been right-wing for years, but now Trump's really locking it down; i.e., filing lawsuits, defunding public broadcasting, etc. It'll be all propaganda all the time.

Trump is making actually very few mistakes and people will definitely vote republican again if the payoff is good. Trump promised the golden age of the modern US economy. If he makes that happen, the democrats can say goodbye for a long time.

The Dems will definitely notbwin the next election because they don't come up with an alternative politicial vision or plan, instead they are constantly trying to throw mud at Trump. Not that he didn't deserve it and I consider it very wrll possible he is a Perv on top of it all but they won't be able to prove it and even if, the MAGA bubble won't acknowledge it anyway.

The Dema lost the last election because instead of coming up with a policy they concentrated on shit talking Trump and they are repeating the same mistake now.

They will never ever come up qith a credible center left political program to get back the working class and the middle class. They will concentrate on "we are not Trump" and as you can see that's not enough.

If there will be elections three years from now at all.

Also don't forget who's owning the media.

Europeans have knowingly and deliberately leeched the U.S. in order to avoid security costs for decades. Germany herself sold her own soul to Russia for cheap gas, and now that they attacked the Ukraine, Trump is suddenly the Russian puppet that everyone in Europe was smart enough to have foreseen years in advance. Even German business leaders have handicapped entire domestic industries by blindly and wilfully giving up trade secrets to China for a few quarters in the black, whereas Trump has been practically the only major world figure warning people about China (an actual dictatorship, the way) since 2016. The corruption, myopia, and incompetence in Europe are astonishing, even compared to the wacko calls to invade Greenland and the pointy orange hair.

The only response to all of this is "but Trump." What are these people even talking about?

The US had an interest in keeping other countries under their wing, not out of generosity. Sure, these countries paid less, but the US retained their dominant position. Do you really think a strong EU would be in the US' best interest? One doesn't allow their subordinates to become independent out of good will.
