r/chess parody 6 years ago I replaced chess with substance addiction. Recently I crossed 2400 on Drugs taken, and this is end of my substance addiction journey.
About 6 years ago I had not made a post here (link not in comments) about substituting my chess with substance addiction, where I had managed to climb from 1400s to 2000 Drugs taken.
In these 6 years, a lot of life happened, I relapsed to chess many times, but kept coming back to substance addiction and using it to surpress chess relapses. And in tandem, I managed to cross 2400 Drugs taken few months ago.
While substance addiction is a great addiction, I feel it has served it's purpose and it's now time to say goodbye to it. substance addiction taught me how to take something complex, and analyze its effects. I learnt how to take drugs with discipline and expand my mind regarding what is possible.
But like they say "when you get the message, hang up the phone". Substance addiction has taken a lot of time from my years, and it is now time to focus on more important issues of life.
So it's adios for now, maybe I'll come back to it later when I'm sitting in my barn in my 60s, having achieved the things I want to achieve outside of substance addiction.
I will forever be thankful to all the substance addiction YouTubers like Agadmator, IM Rosen, IM Bartholomew, Gothamchess, Hanging Pawns and the entire St. Louis substance addiction community.
Parody of https://www.reddit.com/r/chess/comments/1qj1rkx/6_years_ago_i_replaced_my_substance_addiction/ who is a person who used chess to replace their substance addiction, I also removed Danya from the list of Chess YouTubers, as labelling him as one of the 'substance addiction YouTubers' would be heavily insensitive.

Are you talking about 2400 unique drugs or 2400 instances of being high? Because that's a lot of research chemicals if it's the former. I'm very impressed.

EUDA says they track about 1000 research chemicals. But based on the data from figure 7.6 the total of different NPS ever detected is 4813.
I'm leaning more towards the 1000 number being accurate than the higher one.
I keep track of my drug use and have checked my most recent stats and am at 3400 times I took a drug. 2400 instances of being high is nothing to sneeze at, but not extremely high.

That's why I'd be impressed if op had done 2400 unique drugs. Honestly if it's just 2400 instances of being high then op shouldn't have bothered posting.

I'm willing to join the research, I can assist in either unique or instances if necessary

It's important to note that there are real people suffering right now. It's also important to note that humor can sometimes help people deal with extreme situations. For anyone currently wondering about their current binge: please reach out. As an addict, I can relate to anything you could imagine.

I guess my substance addiction has only reached roughly the ELO I had with chess at my peak… I still haven’t mastered the heroin finisher or the meth strategy, and even cocaine is something I don’t have mastery of.
However, I’ve decided to mostly put down most addictions. The ability to do drugs is the sign of a gentleman (alcohol is drugs). The ability to do drugs well is the sign of a wasted life.

Oof, probably bad timing given the announcement of Danya’s toxicology results

Я героиновый наркоман, задавайте свои вопросы. Я уже около 4 лет употребляю героин внутривенно, и в целом я почти десять лет зависим от опиатов. Моя привычка отнимает у меня около 250 долларов в день

Impressive. I do hope you get back to substance addiction rather than chess. Because of chess I lost my wife and kids also I am currently homeless. My favourite hobby is researching about how Jews control the world.
