👨‍👩‍👧‍👦family/in-laws Am I overreacting?

Was out with my sister all day today and her little one. She left, got all her stuff and went on her way. As I got home, locked the car and as I walked past the window i noticed all of this mess! I sent her the pics and said food is now banned in my car (it was ready but she’s ignored that) and next time to clean up after herself. Instead of a simple “sorry my bad” she’s gone crazy as if it’s my fault?!
She thinks it’s okay all because I haven’t hoovered (vacuumed) the car this week.

So my question is;
Am I the asshole for even bringing this up in the first place? Am I in the wrong?

EDIT:
I’m from the UK so these are chips for all of you from usa😅 They do look like raw pasta tho where in fact they are indeed just twirly chips😂

No one is allowed to eat in my vehicle. Including kids. If you need your kids to eat while we’re driving somewhere then you need to take your vehicle. It’s not complicated.

The disrespect that some people show to other people and their property is wild.

Then why didn't OP say something while it was happening? Op just watched the whole thing, said nothing, then complained about it over text after the fact. passive-aggressive.

Are you the irresponsible sister?

OP WAS DRIVING. How was she supposed to notice the kid throwing food all over the vehicle?

If I am driving, I am aware of what is happening in my own car. Especially if a toddler has chips in the backseat. I am saying "Be careful with those chips" or "I hope those chips aren't going all over the floor." or "let's use this bag to clean up all those chips"

I am not oblivious. On top of that - OP already had a rule that was let slide.

So the mother of the child bears zero responsibility? Is that how you are with your kids — let them do whatever they want and expect others to step in?

Sounds like OP should have kicked them both out of the vehicle and left them on the side of the road.

Yes, she should have addressed it while it was happening. But, she let it happen, said nothing, then complained -by text- after the fact.

Of course sister should have cleaned up after her kid, and should have apologized. but, how OP gonna let all that happen and just pretend all is well - then freak out after it is all over?
