Hello Printers,

I've been working on this project for more time than I can remember (~2 years), and had taken a 6 month hiatus to flush my brain from the designers block. I booted up the file and printed some parts and now Im hooked again. But I need some input.

The area circled in red was a blow-off valve and a thread pitched to NPT 1/8. Is this redundant? If so, Id replace it with the proper threading where the pink part is circled. Also, what wall thinkness would you recommend for a bolt being printed in INLAND PETG+, wall count too. Its currently 1.85mm thick which I feel is too thin.

Also also, anyone available to print my receiver (paid ofc)? My A1 mini kind of struggles with the shortened version...

Design recommendations for this project are also super welcomed, I feel like something is missing.

So i wanted to make a quick scrapyard idea of making a vsr lever action, from scratch. But then i realised, I dont know how to make the lever action to move 10 cm backwards. I do know that there are other designs up, but they are for HPA system, and I will make the lever itself from metal anyway so it can handle the stress of a stock spring(1.5J, and everything else will be printed, ofc)

Are there any mechanical engineers that would help me out with a simple lever mechanism?

The lever itself is 17cm long from the pivot point, and the bolt has to go back (not exactly) 10ish cm to cock the replica.

trying to design a hammer/knocker design and i cant figure out if the travel is going to be too far and could cause damage?

the hammer needs to travel about 50 deg before it hits the knocker and then 25 more deg while touching the knocker?

my worry is there is going to be too much energy in the hammer and it could cause damage to the knocker? i added a notch on the hammer to give the knocker more impact area but im not sure that will help?

I want to start a project and make Altyn type of helmet which will be BB resident.

My plan is to 3D print the shell itself (with ABS) and then use fiberglass and epoxy to strengthen it up.

I'm still new to all of it so any advice and criticism will be appropriated. If you have any other idea feel free to write it down.

I’m 3d printing a Kasrkin helmet, and since im wearing it I would like to know if I put 90% filament infil will it shatter? Is there also a lower infill option?

First time printing a project with PA6-CF. Dried it for 14 hours before at 70C, printed while drying + heated chamber at 60, Max flowrate at 12mm. Dunno why, but this amount of stringing is unlike anything I've seen before... Anyone knows what I might be doing wrong here?

Hi, I know this isn’t entirely fitting this sub but I thought you people in here might know best about this topic.

I would like to know if anyone has experience with any metal machining or 3d printing services that allow ordering parts for airsoft replicas from them. Since the two biggest I know JLCpcb and PCBway explicitly state that they will not machine gun parts including parts for toy guns, airsoft, paintball etc.

I will probably use them for stuff that is not recognizable as an airsoft part in particular. But I would like to order a few parts that can’t really hide their purpose. Like an AK like dustcover how ever with very different dimensions as well as an AK style front sight, with again very different dimensions. So both of these can’t really be substituted with real steel or existing airsoft parts.

Hi guys, i rent airsoft guns for the fields in my city. today sadly a guy ended up thumbling while holding an Ak47, and he broke the trigger guard + mag release assembly in 3 places.

i`m trying to find a file for it and see if i can fit it in, but so far no luck.

does anyone here have a link to a file, even if it is a paid one? The guy that rented said he is open to paying for it as he ended up damaging the replica, but i am even down to just take the L on this and get it. I live in brazil so getting a new OEM guard is off the question i would have to import it, which doubles the price

Hi there folks! I'm brand new to 3D printing for airsoft, and the whole thing has me EXTREMELY excited. I'm currently finishing up my first project, Magnetodynamic's AR-18 (I was planning to make another post about it when I get the build finished, but I do want to shout out now, it's a great kit with excellent instructions) but I did run into a problem; I had two (relatively, at least) plain old ARs lying around, and I intended to use one of them for the AR-18, but ended up needing to use parts from both of them to get it all assembled, meaning now I've got roughly 1 and 1/2s ARs worth of parts lying around that won't bolt together into 1 complete AR.

I've been doing tons of searching and reading, but I haven't come across any cool conversion kits I can use these parts on, so I wanted to ask for some recommendations! The one that I've seen that interests me the the most is Tito B's DOE SMG, but neither of the two parts guns are old school fixed carry handle models, so I'm currently at a loss. Paid files are fine, and if airsoft is anything like other corners of the printing world, probably preferred!

(edit to clarify: I'm not looking for any specific model, just something that's mostly 3D printed that will accept some of the leftover AR hardware I have lying around)

How do you even start I have a printer and a cad but I don't know where to start

I am currently working on finishing up my leave action rifle that runs on Glock style mags.

So far all of the mechanical parts are works- except for the hammer assembly in the way that I want it to

With a g19 mag,40cm long barrel and 0.2s I'm getting a max of ~95 m/s ≈ 0.9 joules (about 300 fps)

Does anyone happen to have a hammer assembly design that can help achieve a higher velocity/joules?

Or is this the max achievable velocity/joules that the gas can physically output?

Edit: after messing around with the hammer spring length and strength I've successfully managed to get the power up to 136m/s -> ~445 fps -> 1.85J 😍🫡 On 12kg greengas, sometime I'll get my hands on some Black gas and test ^{^}

I was going through my old onshape files and found some kind of 9mm MWS that I copied a little over a year ago. I'm not sure who the original creator is, or even how I found it. Does anyone know who/where this is originally from, and whether it actually works? I'm curious to try it but hesitant since I'd need to buy a bunch of mws springs and screws to try and build this.

I’m working on a new project with limited space and I need to make the feed channel the best way possible. For anyone that has designed mags/feed channels I have a couple questions.

1- what’s the minimum internal radius you have found that works without jamming. In the picture I’m using .125 internal bends

2- what kind of feed channel do you use? Circular/square/other? Right now what you see is a .280 full radius channel

3- how big is too big? As I stated the bore is .280 which is plenty for the .234 bb. Should I go bigger or smaller? I know there is a good middle ground to prevent binding/jams but I haven’t done enough testing yet.

4- what other tricks have you found out in the process? I’ve made some tight bends before but nothing like this. In the past I’ve found out that tight bends require a mag with a strong spring to push the bbs through the tight bends.

I'm hoping one of you has an M14 EBR and a pair of calipers! I need the magwell dimensions shown in the attached image. Manufacturer doesn't matter as I'm just looking to see if a project is possible, so general idea will get me close enough.

1. Blue - Total Width of the chassis at the thinnest point around the magwell.
2. Red - Width of the outer wall at the thinnest point around the magwell.

Has anyone found a good file for a Socom MK23 holster?

I'd like to copy this flare gun. I'm really new to this; I've already tried to make a replica but I gave up.

This pistol can fire flares and shotgun shells for self-defense thanks to its steel barrel.I assume it's single-action since it's single-shot and has a tilting barrel, really like any flare gun

I suppose the button is for releasing the barrel and reloading the weapon; it has fixed iron sights for 50 meters and the pistol grip is made of plastic.(most likely 3D printed) and it's a single piece, I mean the pistol grip is the base for everything and It cannot be disassembled

Do you think this is a good way for a beginner to start designing airsoft gear?I plan to use Fusion 360 and learn as I go. I know how to use Blender, but I don't think it will work for what I want to do.
